Just a place holder in case anyone (Anyone at all) wanted to share something including some photos of something bordering on terrifying that they are concocting.

Anyone at all.

I just ate “carne asada” from a sketchy taco truck about 3/4 of a mile from the California / Baja California border, but no pics.

In my limited Spanish I think the place was called Burnt O-Ring.

Holy cow!!!!
Welcome back!

If it’s too spicy, it might burn your o-ring on the way out.

Chicken Pad Thai, or whatever the chicken like substance is at those restaurants, with a heat level 3 is about my limit.

just took this lil bastid and made my 1st test batch of hot sauce. and it is hot. I lost the use of my face for a little while there. also my sphincter and I aren't on speaking terms right now. not that we ever really have much to say, quite honestly.

Not spicy food.
The store where I buy groceries (Meijer) no longer carries the Sriracha Chicken that I use to make my sandwich for lunch every day.

Last time I was able to make it to the Fort Worth Stock show and rodeo there was some tremendous ghost pepper chocolate made by a local company that was pretty awesome…

Not recent, but a memory from my youth… travelled to Bangkok in 2000. Ordered Tom Yum Gai soup, expecting the tasty coconut broth of American Thai restaurants. Not expecting the half inch of fiery Chile oil floating on top. Dear God - that seared every part of my digestive tract.

We are doing stuff with Hatch chiles this week.

Be drankin on that gentleman jack it’s spicy like a muuuuuuuuthaaaaaaaaaaaaa needs make to a store run some likker sheeeeeeeer

Inspired by @eman1200 and his reapers, I bought these this weekend.

One of them was a mistake.
Well eating it on a cracker was a mistake.

Must be something wrong with me. I'm making my salsa's and beans far less spicy than in the past. Mrs. Steingar does like them better that way. Oh well, there's always hot sauce...

I did the blazing wing challenge at BWW.
Anything to get a free shirt.
Stupid wings are hotter than that. A friend who likes things hot, hot, hot won't even try them. Won't touch the Eat Heat wings at Quaker Steak and Lube, either - those are made with scorpion peppers and capsaicin concentrate. I, on the other hand, tend to be more wimpy - Frank' hot sauce is my poison of choice these days.

Ok, I'll admit to a f'up tonight. Had a nice caprese salad made up. Fetched it out of the fridge and went to drizzle a bit of balsamic glaze on it. All well, right? Well, I accidentally grabbed the siracha bottle instead if the glaze. Oops. I caught it befor I did too much damage, but ended up using a paper towel to get as much off the tomatoes and mozzarella as I could. I did get the balsamic on it, but still could taste the siracha when I ate it.

It took me two f’ups to learn to always read labels. The first was when I grabbed the Easy Off oven cleaner that was sitting right next to the Lemon Pledge furniture polish and sprayed it all over the table my husband’s grandfather built.

The second was when I grabbed the hydrochloric acid that was sitting right next to the bleach and poured it into the washing machine, without any water yet, I was going to do a disinfection cycle.

In both cases the containers were very similar and in both cases the immediate clue that I’d f’ed up was a lot of toxic smelling fumes hitting me in the face. The table surface was actually bubbling and I don’t know what was corroding down in the washer. Since then I never apply anything to anything without reading the label. I also don’t store such things next to each other anymore.

I might be making batch #2 tomorrow, coupl'a ripe lookin lil mofos ready to go, me thinks.

Sometimes screw ups like this make interesting flavors. Like the time I accidentally put a little yellow mustard on my Chili.

I’m having these for breakfast

I'm too young to die. It would be bad ADM to consume that chip that Bryan bought.

Umm, you sure it wasn't "Pendejo Quemado"?

I love Indian curries and Mexican salsa, and even the spicy teriyaki from the hole-in-the-wall joint down the street. But, I'm limited to 2 or 3 stars. I seem to be particularly susceptible to burnt o-ring.
