I just joined. Am a rusty pilot just getting back into flying. Taking tailwheel training right now and its a blast. (in a Champ). I am a former Naval Aviator, (A-7E, USS America). It's good to be back flying, and a big hello to any Sailors out there! (also to any Veterans).

Well I was gonna tell you my experience coming back after laying off from 2006 until 2017. Then I saw you were a Navy aviator and realized you didn't need anything from me. :D

I googled it and got LHA-6. Did it again and this time got a CV-66. It was scuttled in 2005.

Welcome, and thank you for your service!

I tried taking some tailwheel lessons in a Champ once... my instructor and I spent 45 minutes trying to hand-prop the engine (until my hands literally started to bleed) without success... came back the next day and it still wouldn't start. So my Champ dreams remain! Somedaaaaaaaayyyyy.... :)

Welcome - made my way back to GA a few years ago after a career flying VAQ - No traps on CV-66 but had a couple friends in her in VAQ-137 in the late 80's and early 90;s cruises.
