What was the reasoning? Trying to speed up the game?
I believe the reasoning was speeding up the game and limiting wear and tear on pitchers. They have also reduced double headers to 7 inning games instead of 9 each.

Which way does he run? To third or is he allowed to go straight to home past the pitchers mound? This is nuts!

Is it the next batter up in the line up? Or can they put anyone there?

I don't know. I stop watching any game after the bottom of the ninth. I'm not wasting my time watching a farce.

Whaaaat?? Obviously I haven't watched much base-ball recently. Jeez. In my old-man league hardball league we played 7 inning double headers... and we are old men. Lame.

ForeFlight shows TFR's even when they are not active. If this is the case, they are in yellow. They change to red when active. Did not know.

I came into my office to make a note to myself, which led to checking email, which led to dicking around on POA for half an hour. I really gotta turn off those notifications.

So I flew with a friend to DNV this morning to go to the gun store. Apparently the 10mm glock i was lusting after has been backordered since February. On the way back through the FBO, I caught a glimpse of another piece of German hardware:

This 109 is under restoration there, is mostly together, and almost ready to start. The cowlings were open and it is beautiful. Of course I left my phone in the plane so I didn't get any pictures.

We also got a see a couple P-51s they were working on, but they were no where near as close as the 109.

I always thought a 10mm would be a good addition to the collection. ammo is 'spensive though, right? if u can even find it?

Oddly enough this gun shop is a police supply store (Glock allows firefighters to participate in their "blue label" program) and they had stacks of 10mm practice ammo for $22 a box. I didn't buy any because I don't yet own a 10mm, but I'm kicking myself now. I should probably run back over there. The only other I could find anywhere is buffalo bore which is about $1.50 a round, although obviously that's apples & oranges.

I think Illinois law [technially] restricts one from owning ammo for a firearm they don’t also own. Maybe double check.

Can't say I've ever heard that one. Nothing would surprise me in this state though. Not sure how that would be enforceable as there's no registration (yet). It could be a cook county thing.

I lost all of my guns (and ammo) in a tragic boating accident.
Took up flying; much safer.

a few days of withdrawal is nothing... don't try to go weeks without flying. You won't enjoy. The people around you will enjoy even less.

Eleven years and counting...

Oof. I hate hearing that for ya.

I did an 8 year stint once so I hear ya.

No idea how long this one will be.

Aviation is too much fun not to do it, but there’s other toys.

I was watching Rich's Chicken in Wine video and Youtube thought this advertisement would be the right one to show me:

Went to the ATL airshow on Sunday. Nice! Curious though - they had a few formations cross midfield and flew over the crowd. I thought that was verboten after the Ramstein air show / Italian piercing the heart crash a few years ago?

Finally got to sit in an Archer on Sunday, just to try it out. Assuming it is identical in size to the Arrow. Nice plane, but I knew immediately it wouldn't be something I would want to own. The way the shoulder and head space tapered, the way my head was so close to the side - it just didn't feel right. Even the Tiger felt better. I guess I've just become "institutionalized" to the way a high wing Cessna feels.

Did it have adjustable height seats? I'm 6'4" 275lb and did all my training in an archer. I have to have the seat all the way down & back, but I don't notice headroom being an issue. You definitely get conditioned though; I still fly it occasionally, and it feels tiny now that I'm used to the pa32. Crawling across the passenger seat in either plane is not my favorite thing.

My head wasn’t hitting the ceiling - it was just the way it felt being so close on the left side. No left elbow room either - I guess I’m used to the left arm rest as well.

I told the tower I wanted to go west instead of east.

Haha worse, I meant to say east but said west...
