Does Foreflight typically offer good deals at SNF? Or meh?

My current subscription ends on Monday, April 12. I'll be at SNF on Tuesday, April 13. If there's a good chance at a nice deal/promotion I'll hustle down using only my 430w + old avidyne MFD + paper plates, and renew the subscription there - i don't know, free Jepp charts with premium, or free performance with Jepp, 20% off everything....

If they typically don't do anything outstanding (5% off performance if you subscribe for ten years type deal :)) then I'll just bite the bullet and fly down with the mighty ipad next to me.

Thoughts?

Ever look at joining SAFE or NAFI?

They generally offer a discount or extended subscription period on an upgraded subscription. So, for example, last year, if you upgraded to Performance Plus, they tossed in a Jepp subscription for the first year. Other times Ive seen them offer a 3-month extension 15 moths instead of 12. But as far as I can recall, it's always been for an upgrade, usually a significant one, not just a plain vanilla renewal of what you have.

I had some wonkiness with my subscription recently saying it expired but it actually hadn't. They would let it go a week after the subscription expired before it wouldn't work.

yeah - after i clicked on the renew link and gave up, i got an email offering the 15 for 12 month deal if i upgraded to perf plus. i ended up doing it - i was curious to see what it looked like, and it's an OK deal - get 15 months at $19/mo for perf plus vs 12 months @ $16/month for the middle tier. i can always cancel next year - i was really curious to see if jepp plates would make a difference in my life, but can't fork out the money...

It depends. I've used both through the years. Many disagree but I've found the variation in approach and SID/STAR charts minor - different without a significant benefit. OTOH, the Jepp one-stop-shop "10-9" airport page collects information you would look for in 2 or 3 different places in FAA documents. Less of an issue with an EFB that collects and presents most if it anyway but still an excellent convenience. Whether that makes a significant enough difference for you, combined with some learning curve due to presentation differences is up to you.

Fellow pilots, I can guarantee that Foreflight will run some sort of Pro Plus -> Performance Plus upgrade very soon.

How do I know this? Because I just upgraded from Pro Plus to Performance Plus and paid regular price.

To those waiting to upgrade - you're welcome.
