Show off your Plane!

171 knots true? That's fantastic!
Oh man, I wish! All Comanche 250s were in MPH. 171mph is actually very slow. I had just leveled off and took a bunch of pictures real quick because of the sunrise. 181-185 is the norm, so about 160KTS TAS burning 12.5-14gph. This was my trip from Kansas City area to the Annapolis boat show using every bit of the 1200lb useful load.

It was unfortunately a downwind and downhill landing that ended in a 4-5' tall snowbank from the entire winter of snow being plowed. It was not a soft stop, but we walked away. The options for landing spots into the wind looked deadly, rocks and trees and cliffs mainly. I chose the downwind farm road with lots of tall powerlines.

Here's my 2010 RV-8. Loads of fun!

Nice, colojo! Where was your inflight pic taken? Sorta looks like terrain near Ramona.

Ha! I didn't notice the MPH to the left of your speed tape. I think I see glass and my pea brain just assumes it'd be knots. Makes sense it'd be mph though. Still, 160 true on 12-14gph is pretty nice! :)

You went with mph on the G5? I had mine installed with kts.

Yep, since all placard stuff is in MPH I wanted to keep it all legal. I would prefer KTS but really it’s just a number who’s value doesn’t mean much. I do have Ground Speed setup in knots though. Pretty sure when I asked the shop, they said, “nope, needs to stay what the plane was certified in”. I didn’t take it any further than that.

I'm just the opposite. Knots on the EFIS but mph for ground speed on the secondary GPS, 'cause passengers always ask how fast we're going, and give me a funny look if I tell them in knots!!

I feel like the luckiest guy around every time I fly her

This is from the day I took possession - September, 2016. Since then, I've been updating her every year. New interior, panel, engine. Hoping to make air conditioning the next big thing. 20160831_162251.jpg A36 Old Interior and Table.jpg IMG_0829.JPG 20160530_125222.jpg 20200511_192711.jpg 20200417_082836.jpg

That's an outstanding panel and the interior looks great too. Side note, clever idea to replace the ashtrays with USB ports.

Keep 'em coming, guys & gals. So cool to see what everyone flies!
