Hello fellow aviators! I'm going thru an issue with FltPlan Go where, once I start receiving GPS and ADS-B info from either a 430W or Stratux, the app crashes after ~ 5 minutes or so.
I have the latest iPad Mini (wifi, 128GB), latest iOS and latest version of the app.

I've contacted support but I'm waiting for their response.

I'm wondering if anyone is experiencing the same issue. Anyone else experiencing this?

My money is on something in the latest IOS causing the issue.

Support told me to remove all layers in the map view and it does help, but it just takes longer to crash, instead of every 3-5 minutes.
They said they'll investigate it.
I hope they figure out what it is or I'll have to switch to another app.
It was very annoying to restart the app, load route while flying in class B yesterday on a plane without GPS ...

The last IOS update caused a connection problem to the Stratus over WiFi until I found out how to reconfigure. My ForeFlight also froze after 15 minutes of flying and had to restart it to unfreeze. I was using my 9.7 inch I Pad Pro that I always have used, and have never had ForeFlight lock up before. In addition, the new IOS is killing the batteries on both my I Pad and my I Phone.

If I had to bet, on a hunch I would say the new IOS has a lot to do with it.

A couple of months ago, the Android version of the FltPlan Go app was crashing in map view on one of my three Android devices. They use a third-party map library from ESRI, so they have to rush to find work-arounds whenever that ESRI library introduces a new bug (which might affect only one or two types of devices) or has trouble with a new OS release. That library would be displaying any ADS-B traffic or weather, though, of course, the bug could be elsewhere.

In my case, I reported the Android bug on a Friday afternoon and they had it fixed by Monday evening, but it won't always be that easy.

I'm having same issue and I am using older iPad Mini 2. There is no consistency as to why it crashes. Most notable crash is when it tries to load the map and I change airport or route. If anyone has fix please do post here.

FltPlan Go! has had crashing issues all of its life. Certainly better in recent years but that history is the reason I still pay for both my primary and backup EFB apps.

The issue got a lot better after I turned down the data being displayed from adsb, and also turning off photo sync and other background activities on the stratux wifi. It still crashes every now and then, but it's a more rare event.

VFR, I don't care. IFR, "every now and then" is not acceptable. Although, I guess it depends on the definition of "every now and then." Once every few years due to a bug would be ok.

So far, after I posted this and got help from their support, it has only crashed once, during cruise, under IFR plan.
I know it won't crash if you don't connect it to the avionics or stratux (EFB only)
