Can you camp over-night at Oshkosh when Airventure is not on?

I believe the answer is no. But the Hilton Garden Inn is reasonably priced the rest of the year, and they have their own parking ramp.

Believe you mean the Hilton Garden Inn?

The answer is definitely no. We flew up last year even though the show was cancelled and stayed at the Hilton (our first and probably only time) as previously mentioned. The EAA grounds were off limits to everyone but employees. Camp grounds around the airport, like Sleepy Hollow, are potential options though. You just won’t be able to camp with your plane.

There is a campground just north of the airport called Hickory Oaks, they have a 2200ft grass runway and you can camp whenever..

$28/night for grass tiedowns is pretty spendy. Maybe they should offer year round camping and reduce our dues :)

If it was just a grass tie down I'd probably agree with you. But that includes showers and access to other amenities, as well as proximity to the Show. I've always considered Oshkosh to be the biggest vacation value I know. Even with the flight and a major purchase the price of the event is far less than I spend on any other vacation.

What happened to that thread about camping at KOSH outside of the Airventure dates? Oh yeah, it's this thread.

Unless you crave proximity to where the show WAS, or WILL BE.

Can you name me another class Delta airport that allows camping on it's grounds?
you're confusing me. I said that $28 is pricey to tie down in grass. You said "not when the show is on." I said this thread isn't about when the show is on.

Now you're asking if any other Delta has camping. Is your question "year round" or "for an event"? I don't know the answer to either, but we may as well be clear before people start chiming in.

There is no fee to tie down on the grass at Oshkosh when the show isn't on because you aren't allowed to. I don't think you're allowed to tie down on the grass at any Delta or Charlie except in extenuating circumstances. The fee during the show is commensurate with camping fees that provide showers and amenities.

Except EAA doesn’t own the airport. They pay $230,000 a year rent and year round camping is not under that agreement.
