There is no back seat. How is she gonna pick up dudes on it?

The only bikes on which I ever liked the undertail exhaust were Ducatis. On the rest I think it looks awful, including that Triumph. Hope Lauri doesn’t hurt herself on that thing. It won’t handle like a Harley. Very spanky, despite the exhaust.

Laurie's new motorcycle:

2009 Triumph Daytona 675. Much like the one I bought her 10 years ago (and we then sold about 6 years ago), although this one is in much nicer shape.

I know math is hard, but if Ted bought her one ~10 years ago, and then they sold it ~6 years ago, that means Laurie owned this bike for ~4 years. I think she might have a pretty good handle on how to ride the bike.

Sorry, I really don't memorize all the events that occur in the life of the Ted.

Yeah, but Michael's a scientist, not an engineer. So we can't expect him to math good like we can.

Laurie never had any issues with the old one and I don't expect any issues with the new one. It's a revvy sucker, going up to 14k. 108 HP and 47 ft-lb torque, or something along those lines. The engine was very responsive, but not torquey like a liter bike. I was riding an RC51 (a really crappy one) when she had her last Daytona.

The previous owner put an aftermarket muffler on it, which I don't think looks good on the bike, too ricey. It's also louder than I think it should be (says the guy with the straight piped Moto Guzzi). He saved all the stock parts, though, so I imagine I'll put the stock muffler back on, which I think looks very nice on that bike. I can't find a good picture now, but they made the muffler have three exhaust ports on it, a nice styling cue for the 3-cylinder engine. A side exhaust on that bike would look bad, and it does (many aftermarket ones exist for it).

The underseat exhausts also got a general dislike from the pillion passengers when it was making the seat hotter than hell, lol. Not a problem for solo riding, though. Do any of the manufacturers still use the underseat routing? Pretty much everything I've seen the past few years has been stubby exhausts exiting down low, or back to the standard side pipe (current Honda CBR).
