I’ve passed through several times driving. Not a bad town from what I’ve seen. Don’t expect to be able to do anything after 9/10pm as pretty much nothing is open except Waffle House. & if you plan to be driving, no more than 5 over the posted speeds, unless you like collecting tickets...

condolences.....
"only two things come form Texarkana....." wasn't that a line in the film "smoky and the bandit?"

I spent a whole lot of time there and remember soem fun places to eat and go, but that was back in the mid to late 1990's...so I'm of no help
my memories were that the TX side was dry...but a private club could sell...so places like applebees would sell memberships. I just thought that was funny....

LOL no. It was Texas and Full Metal Jacket.

Texarkana is where they picked up the Coors in Smokey And The Bandit.

Rosanna's down in Texarkana
Wanted me to push her broom...
Sweet Eileen's in Abilene
She forgot I hung the moon...

And that's why I hang my hat in Tennessee!

.......

Seriously, it’s not a bad place, but there’s not a whole lot to do there from what I recall.

Well, just spent 9 days there. Not much going on. Restaurants and bars are open with restricted sittings. Cracker Barrel was banging on all 7 cylinders Sunday morning. Chilly and overcast for the most part. Straight to hotel and sleep after work each night. Drove 2 hours to DALLAS Sat. on 2 lane I 30, boring.

There’s some cotton fields bout a mile away

Hot Springs is only a couple hours away, Broken Bow is pretty close

Jefferson, Texas is a good little town just a short drive away.

Are you at Red River?

Hi ?. Not at Red River but close I guess. Appreciate the recommendations. I’ll be back there in about three weeks. Plan to check out Monroe, LA also. Yours is the most positive response so far.
Thanks,

Definitely get down to Jefferson TX. Hot Springs AR and Lake Degray are close. You can rent a very nice cabin at Broken Bow for a very reasonable cost.

In other words, there may not be alot to do IN Texarkana, but it is not a bad hub to get to some very interesting and beautiful places close by.

The Texarkana airport is a very nice airport class D (AA Eagle service from DFW). ILS and RNAV approaches. TAC Air is the FOB there.

You could be working in worse places.
