My 2nd (3rd? 4th?) childhood....

Well .. that changes everything!

Nothin' better than turning back time to BC (before Covid).

And isn't that supposed to be Sugar Frosted Flakes?

Add chocolate syrup to Chocolate Frosted Sugar Zombies for kids, it's part of a healthy breakfast...

I loved the Saturday morning commercials aimed at kids back in the 60s.!!

That'd work. There are a variety of acceptable options: Sugar Smacks, CoCo Puffs, Lucky Charms,....

I like how the Coyote maintained his membership for ACME Prime. Free shipping. Tailored orders.

I also like the way it reminds me of a less litigious time. Wile E. never once sued ACME, no matter how many anvils fell on his head or how many sticks of dynamite blew up in his face.

Shouldn't he have been suing the Roadrunner...for aggravated assault, or something?

Well, right, that was why ACME used independent sellers for those items.

Cap'n is a poser. He only has three stripes. He's a Commander.

What a bunch of hooey. Cap'n Crunch is the master of the SS Guppy. "Any naval officer who commands a ship is addressed by naval custom as "captain" while aboard in command, regardless of his actual rank,..." ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Captain_(naval) ).

This was a bogus scandal cooked up by a food blogger several years ago and reported by NPR ( https://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo...s-an-impostor-the-navy-says-about-capn-crunch ). Fake news strikes again.

I will note that the link to the food blogger's complaint no longer works and a search of the Foodbeast website turns up nothing on Cap'n Crunch, but the good Cap'n is still going strong.

Right, he is properly addressed as Captain while aboard a ship in which he commands. But he can't use it as a rank title.

Do you see him aboard a ship? Hmm?

That might be correct for the US Navy, but does that look like a standard USN uniform to you? Hmm?

In that cutout picture, it's impossible to tell where the good Cap'n is, but I would assume he's enjoying his breakfast aboard the good ship Guppy.

But if you want to rehash what has already been hashed about hash marks on uniforms, feel free to take it up with these guys: http://www.stolenvalor.com/records.cfm .

Good grief!
We finally put gawdawful 2020 behind us.
And then we start 2021 with a dogfight over the validity of the Cap'n in Cap'n Crunch.

Besides, that argument is moot. Everyone knows Fruit Loops rule. :D

Actually it's Frosted Flakes because they're great!

SUGAR Frosted Flakes! :D

(Yes, even though they changed the name in deference to nutritional political correctness) ;)

Cookie
Crisp

I mean... it is cookies....

The only one my mom wouldn't buy for us. They didn't even try to disguise it as a breakfast food.

I mean. Just cookies.

Fruity Pebbles or Cocoa Puffs! Mmmmmmmmm

Mom usually got the cheap cereal in the bag and put it in the name brand box. I think the real Capn Crunch was softer (probably fresher), but the bagged version (can’t remember the name) was good too...just....crunchy. I think the cheap Honeycomb was the same?

I ended up with a lot of the old cartoons on dvd, and still watch them occasionally.

Anyone remember this monstrosity of a breakfast cereal? I think it was on sale occasionally and mom would get it....blah!

oh that Kaboom looks like it is part of a complete breakfast......

.... of sugar

I was always up on Saturday for the all-day cartoons until they started that HR Pufnstuff crap and the crappy dinosaur animations...

In one day in 1968 or so, it was all over....

Now you're seein' pink hearts, yellow moons, orange stars and green clovers.

Always liked Crusader Rabbit and Ragland T Tiger

Fruit Loops, you eat them until the roof of your mouth is so cut up you cant eat any more.....then switch to Cinnamon Toast Crunch.

Glad I have kids so my wife does not think I'm crazy for waking up early on the weekends to watch cartoons anymore.

The Bugaloos, the Bugaloos
We're in the air and everywhere
Flying high, flying loose
Flying free as a summer breeze...
