Raptor Aircraft

He's doing all of this because the weight on one wheel is 37lbs more than the other???

If he does get a test pilot who wants to fly from the left seat, He'll have to undo all of this.

And how is he going to control the fuel feed from the strake tanks? Because if 37lbs difference on the wheels has him this concerned, wait until he's got about 5 gallons of fuel imbalance.

I've flown my plane with over 10 gallons difference in the tanks. All I needed was a little aileron trim.

Shaking my head.

Well now we found out why hes in love with that Audi engine...hes got a crush on Audi in general. A bunch of jargon trying to explain the imbalance. I'd be more concerned with why there's an imbalance. I'd be shocked if a bag of fishing weight resolved the problem. Weight that is zip tied an inch away from control cables. But don't worry, elmer's glue is gonna hold it all together.

If he wants to make sure there's no weight imbalance fine. But he should have said that from the beginning to rule out prop torque.

That's because your "talking out the ass" language skills are deficient. :D:eek:

Peter is chasing phantoms when the real problems (weight, bastardized drivetrain) have been pointed out a hundred times. It would behoove him to find a friend who knows what the hell he's doing and listen to that friend.

Hey Bender, you forgot Zip tie lashed together on a plastic block clocked at an angle goobered in with epoxy.

Peter is starting to remind me of Joe Pesci’s line in Casino describing the guy sent to watch the skim...

“This guy was a disaster...I mean he could f*** up a cup of coffee.”

It's amazing he doesn't own some flush cut pliers to trim the tie wrap tails.
You noticed that too? It's like he goes out of his way to do as poorly as he possibly can at everything he does. He strives for low quality. Its like the interns at work, that do so much work to get out of doing work, that it would just be easier to just do the job we ask in the first place.

I sometimes leave mine uncut if I’m going to come back immediately later and remove or replace it. Also prevents my delicate girly hands from getting tie-wrap-scrapes In a tight space, lol. Lastly, sometimes the cut tail is lost/disappears forever in the bowels of the plane.

Watch the first minute of the video... they are trimmed... just to a perfect length to cut yourself.

Glad to hear my workplace isn’t the only one experiencing that issue...

I saw that too. I follow-up any zip-tie use with a pocket knife or razor blade to trim flush with the the head of the tie to keep it neat and scrape/cut free.

The flush cut trimmer and Eastwood tools look cool though! I might have to add one to my tool collection...

About two minutes into this I just started shaking my head......

That's about as long as I made it before I used the scroll bar to scroll through the video and see where he was at. The gist I got was that 37 pounds at one wheel is what was causing a roll to the right in the air that he could have trimmed-out, but decided to add ballast to offset. Maybe adding more fuel to the other tank might have helped balance things, especially since it's rare to have perfect weight distribution left/right?

so his head isn't worth 3k for a real helmet? so he is looking at helmets meant to be use with an aircraft with a 25mph stall speed on an aircraft that can't even get the nosewheel off at 90kts? should be ok, I see a lot of motorcycle riders wearing bike helmets because they are cheaper.

His decision making gets worse by the day.

Why bother adding ballast? Way to suck down useful load.

I didn’t watch the video - when is he going to fly it > 5 ft AGL? That’s gonna be interesting..

We’re watching get-there-itis unfold in near real time.

There could be a touch of a mental disorder going on here as well. Just a thought. The flight suit bought off Amazon? Whyyyy? He’s better off in shirt and shorts if things get all on fire and stuff.

Probably running low on cash. Also, would need to evaluate Amazon flight suit vs a “real” flight suit, which probably has the aviation “price multiplier” applied.

It's been 12 days since the last video. I'm beginning to think the rather large displacement of the MLG that occurred on his 'flight' caused some bulkhead damage. The repairs from the first instance of damage that happened on (what else?) a high speed taxi weren't all that great.

Possibly. I'd guess the nearby hurricane has kept him grounded for much of the period since he's extremely crosswind shy.

Even if it is, based on his videos it will take >100 mph winds to lift it, lol

Wish we could start a betting pool when Peter will attempt a lap in the pattern. o_O

That might be too optimistic, the first time he gets 500 AGL.

Which video has him up in ground effect? Maybe I need to watch towards the end of one?

Huh. We used to say that F4s are true testimony that you can make a brick fly.

This is example #2. Even it it was for only a few seconds...now if only there was a camera on voltage meter, EGT, CHT and TIT, it would be interesting ...

$186.00 for a Nomex flight suit.
The deal of a lifetime.
No, really. It could really be the deal of his lifetime.
