Guys and Girls,
Oshkosh is not happening this year so I'm gonna bring it to you. Well I'll try. We are going to showcase a new plane or airplane component everyday for the month of July. I'm creating this thread to post those videos and images as we would have from Airventures.
Enjoy! and feel free to post your own.

Great, thanks... the more plane vids the better...

Waco is one gorgeous bird everybody should know about.

Wondering what type of missions the Subsonex would fly. This one is about 95% complete

First drop from July 1st
This is one of those airplanes that seems awesome, but will never actually exist in the US market. Not an LSA, but also not Part 23. Maybe we'll get lucky and stuff like this will make it to the US once they expand LSA rules.

It could. I see it as another JMB evolution. Those are already being sold in the US as experimental aircraft.

I'm curious, how are they registered? There's only a few ways to register as experimental, and I don't believe JMB sells a "kit" -- so are they R&D? Exhibition maybe? None of those make sense for large sales numbers.

Electron Aero is joining the electric aircraft revolution. Here's a rough design of the fuselage

They are currently being registered as Experimental amateur build and Exhibition.

Sorry but I don't believe that. JMB doesn't sell a kit, so EAB isn't possible. And of course exhibition isn't possible (or useful) to normal guys like you and me.

Good color choice! At first I was going to go with white as a base color for my RV, but I went with silver and it looks a lot more upmarket. I used automotive polyurethane...Mazda Vintage Red (picture a third-gen red RX-7) and the silver was an Infiniti color.

Right on!

McLaren Aerospace wants to change the way you build airplanes

No need for a kit. Plans built would still be E-AB, would it not?

That's true. But JMB doesn't sell plans either. I'd love to see more aircraft life that come to the US, but misleading people about availability isn't gonna help

There is a “Private Aviation Event” at HUF/Terre Haute on the weekend of the 25th. Not open to the public, fly-in only. Don’t have all the details, but Calypso and myself will be there on Saturday. Could be interesting....
Towered airport, 3 runways with a 9000+ ft 5/23. C’mon out!

Darn it, plane goes into annual that week!!

Bristell finally gets the 915 Turbo for the US Market

I noticed the 5200 rpm limit at sea level placarded on the Bristell. I wonder what the speed is at say 7500' at 5400 rpm?

Bushcat is a unique bird in the STOL aircraft category

Time for some Aviation world history. Fokker DR-1 (don't pronounce this in front of your kids) The Fokker was active during WWI. You could out climb any plane in a dog fight but those 3 wings will drag like mud in a dive. The Pilot who made it famous Manfred Von Richthofen served in the German army. And he was the most decorated fighter pilot of the war, with 80 victories. Watch the video for full story.

Is that your photo? Because in addition to a beautiful plane, that is one of the most gorgeous photos of a Waco I've ever seen.

Particularly the color balance to get that antique, nostalgic, heroic mood without resorting to cliched sepia or something awful.

I wish. This is professionally taken, from WACO. I do have their permission to user it.

During world war 2, pilots were required to solo by 10 hours of flight training. As a result over 14,000 pilots died during training. Many of them trained in this aircraft, the PT-19
