I was eating some ice cream today and dreaming of opening my own shop (I am an ice cream-a-holic). I was trying to think of an aviation themed ice cream shop name. I came up with:

FIKI Cream

Nobody would understand it though.

What other businesses (anything, not just ice cream) can you think of that would be corny?

You could serve flavors such as MOCA Chip... perhaps a low-fat line called Lean of Peak...

In spite of the well-deserved reputation as a great spot for family vacations, the OBX also has some of the most tasteless business names around. For instance, there's a chain of crab shacks called "Dirty Dick's," with the slogan, "I got my crabs at Dirty Dick's!". Another business specializing in fresh roasted nuts is called "Try My Nuts."

My wife and I have toyed with the idea (not seriously... but... well.... it'd probably do very well down there) of opening a bluegrass bar featuring live music called "Pickin' and Grinnin'," along with an attached sister business specializing in jerky, pork rinds, pretzels, potato chips, etc., called "Booger's Salty Snacks." We won't do it, but the idea is for sale. It's a gold mine, and trademarks applied for. Contact me for the rights. OK.. not really. well... if you're interested.... ;)

"Wheels Up" - Tires, wheels, and suspension lifts.
"Flaps" - bird-related pet store
"Propwash" - laundromat specializing in theatrical costume and gear cleaning.
"P-factor" - Urologist's office
"Pre-detonation" - Surveyor specializing in blast zones.

Chandelle's Gentlemen's Club

"Gentlemen's Club"---now THERE'S an oxymoron if there ever was one.

Tango's Uniforms

That reminded me of the name of cajun flyer's blog, "Landing with Whiskey". Good name for an airport bar.

BTW, when I tried to put the @ in front of her name, it came up blank. Either I misremember her screen name or she's been scrubbed from the system.

off topic but makes me laugh.

Ravioli's True Story Time:

In the 80's there was a club across the street from the LA Museum of Contemporary Art. The museum had a neon sign the said MOCA and it would be illuminated in cycling colors and stuff.

Guy called and said, "Hey we're all going to xyz place, you should come" I said I didn't know where that club was and he said, "It's easy to find, it's across the street from the chocolate factory."

I never noticed how like a stripper name "Chandelle" was until just now. No wonder it's my favorite maneuver in the commercial syllabus :D

Never been, but I heard of a bar on Lake of the Ozarks named...

Big Dick's Halfway Inn

Yes, yes there is. It's just around the corner from a town named Climax Springs (for real)

about a dozen years ago, I received a long vacation from the Cessna Pilots' Society forum for making the joke:

is it a coincidental that exactly halfway between SUX and KLIT is a little town in Missouri named Climax Springs?

folks over there have absolutely ZERO sense of humor. One of the mods told me that theIt standard for acceptable posts was that it had to be fit for his 13yo girl to read. GMAFB.

Hangar Headquarters. I guess it's a place to organize your closets.

Where I grew up in Texas there was a bar, not a nice one, called, ''The Office''.

''I'll be home late dear, I am still at the office....''

(sorry not aviation related, but funny t me)
