Flew yesterday to knock the rust off...a much-needed series of storms has kept me grounded.

Lake Elsinore filling back up...nice.

To help with the TP shortage, I threw a roll out of my plane and cut it with the prop three times on the way down. You know, to help distribute it. I'm a giver. :D

That qualifies as a prop strike under the AD so please comply with the prop strike inspection before further flight!

Put 1.6 on the Hobbs today. Just cruising the TN River with no sense of direction. One of my favorites close to Houston Co airport. Danville Crossing area is rich in Civil War history. Flew on over to Dover Battlefield then just a short 8 miles to the house for a fly by. Flying erased everything wrong down here where we earth crawlers dwell. But for us pilots, we leave the common man on the ground.

Went for a social distancing flight this afternoon. Crossed the Mississippi, but didn't land, so do I need to quarantine?

Added 5 new airports to the logbook. Galesburg, IL has the cheapest gas around and a very sad looking abandoned control tower. When I got home I found an article saying it was closed when all the controllers were fired in the 80s, and is slated to come down this year. IMG_20200330_154045556.jpg

Out for a walk. I'm an essential worker who lives and works here in the epicenter, so I'm out daily anyway. Social distancing of course ;)

the Concord looks tiny, but when I stood under it's wings and went on board a few years ago, it was not! 1c.jpg 1d.jpg 1e.jpg 1f.jpg a.jpg

@eman1200 You showed your Mooney how she will end if she is not a ‘good plane’? :D;):D Always sad to see a plane ending this way... :(

Did an Angel flight from Houston to small airport in Arkansas yesterday....a tough flight. We got him home but only because of the work Dr. Bruce put in last year for me.
Every time I fly I say a prayer for Dr. B.

Hopefully a once-in-a-lifetime view.

Ok. Cheating. Painting hanging in my office.
Beautiful Phantom! You cheater:D

That was probably my favorite plane when I was a kid. I thought the wings and tail section design was so cool looking (still do).
When I saw these beauties, I knew they would make an awesome addition to my flightsim man cave :)

Did a quick round trip to Gatlinburg, TN with one touch and go there.

Flew over KTYS at 5,500’. Apparently lots of out-of-service planes parked on the closed runway there:

After the touch and go at Gatlinburg, flew over Dollywood. Sad to see it completely empty on a beautiful spring Saturday when it would normally be packed:

Karen thinks our FlightAware track - which truncated our touch and go at Gatlinburg - looks like a dolphin!

It does look like a dolphin.
Gatlinburg is likely representative of whats going on everywhere, but it is sad. Our cabins there are completely empty; they were booked by the manager so they aren't available for anyone to book even if they want to. This was done per the mayors request to local businesses.

I remember when it was Silver Dollar City. My Mother in Law loved Dollywood.

Nice P-51 pics. That’s me in the back of the J. The artist Steve Tack was in the backseat of the Phantom flight lead. He gave the painting to me at my retirement. Good times!

Wow! That's cool. Makes it even more special. Funny how I hadn't noticed your avatar until now.
Congrats.

That's me in the lead Mustang....in my past life :D
