UPDATE: effective NOON TOMORROW

Meeting update: The City Commission has passed an emergency declaration which will be published tomorrow. Effectively, it limits access to the island to 1) residents 2) long term stays already in place and 3) any essential business. NO day trips, NO new reservations taken for any time going forward until further notice, and NO non-essential business. A list of allowed essential businesses will be forthcoming. This is an attempt to keep our island and its residents safe. The Commission wants to protect locals and businesses alike and understands the stress this will cause. More info to follow. Please PASS THE WORD: encourage people to stop coming here and PLEASE SHARE

No input YET re KCDK, but would recommend staying away other than touch n goes. Restaurants are closed. No rentals.

So much for out picnic at CDK next week. With all the restaurants closed,we thought that would make a nice, safe little diversionary day trip. We often just land, park, eat a picnic lunch overlooking the water, then fly home. If they had a "donation" box I would be happy to put a few bucks in it to help pay for maintenance of the field.

You got it. I promise not to fly to cedar key until the ‘all clear’.

Dunno why this would stop your plan.

Lunch at cedar key with the wife was our last trip. Place was booming. We came home healthy.

I'm not sure how to read it. They are "locking the town" according to one news article I read. Does that include the airport or not.
I guess I'll check NOTAMS before heading out.

It’s their choice, will honor their request.

The point being not to bring COVID-19 INTO the island. although a picnic sounds benign enough, it could be a vector of viral transmission.
Would respect the wishes/directives of the City Commission.

The airport has no facilities. I see no harm in stopping there.
