Best Info on COVID-19 I have seen. Please read

Take a deep breath ... This too shall pass. Let us all untwist our collective panties. Too many zombie apocalypse movies and shows. "Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition!" And nobody expects another kind of mass hysteria, but here we are, all living through it.

Must be a millennial vs boomer thing

in the corporate world if you have a very long email but are sending it to an audience who might just want key points you could start that email with

"
Good Afternoon, stats are attached. tldr; margins were down two points however revenue was up five, this appears to be driven by an adverse shift in work mix, full details below
"

It's also often used in other web forums etc.

And then after that you can put paragraphs of stuff explaining the details and information. This gives an observer who might just have a few moments to get the key talking points

the OP tells us this is the best info he has seen on this virus, but then doesn't give us any summary or details about it or what makes it the best, just a link to a website, of which most videos aren't even about coronavirus..

It's kind of like if I told you "this is the best plane I've flown" and posted a link to Textron's website.

Honestly, the suggested forum is not very difficult. I mean it's not like long division with paper and pencil.

https://nationalsecurityforum.org/videos/

First, you linked to a website with a bunch of videos. But fine. I guess it's the video on top (at least for now) that you were referring to. But that video is over an hour long. Some of us have jobs. Maybe we pop in here while on a conference call just to help pass the time (quietly). So watching an hour long video ain't gonna happen. At least for me.

If you really think it's that great, write up some of the highpoints with a link to the video.

Or not. I'm just trying to help you understand.

Give a guy a fish, chances are he'll b*7ch about wanting sirloin instead. Teach him to fish, he'll brag about how good a fisherman he is. -go figure...

It's just a link...

It's your life and death not mine. You prioritize.

There is SO much news to read that I usually just read the headlines, and don't go any further unless I'm interested. The headlines are often informative enough.

I'm still looking for the answer to the question "why is the US going to have a million people die in the next two months when there hasn't been anywhere close to that number in other countries?"

I just find it curious that experts are "conservatively" predicting mass doom when it hasn't been that bad anywhere else, including places that had no warning.

Italy is pretty bad. Bad enough that I wouldn't want to wish their situation on us.

I watched the entire video, found it very interesting. Thanks for sharing it! He does an excellent job of putting this into context. We're not dealing with another Spanish Flu type pandemic! The public needs to relax, stop hoarding supplies, and stay off social media!

Must be an American, I thought we were the world losers at math not reading.
I suck at math and I don’t have the patience nor the time to sit through an hour long video on the coronavirus. I hear enough about it as it is....

Very antagonizing thread.. wow.

"Here's a link, no I won't tell you what it's about.. and F*** you for asking"

tldr; most of are just done with hearing about "Corona"

It looks like Spain is going to be worse.

But neither is likely to have a million people die in the next two months and neither will we. A this point, we are in a process of discovering cases, but we probably have very, very few new infections. It will look horrifying by the numbers because we're still catching up.

I heard a FDA clown on the radio yesterday stressing why we need clinical data to ensure a vaccine works and why we need to be patient until the 18-36 month clinical trial process plays out. He is a poster child for everything wrong with government thinking. At this point, I'm willing to go with "it doesn't hurt you, let's have a 350 million person primary trial".

That's all fine, until we find out the cure causes even worse problems. This happened decades ago with another medicine that was rushed out. Caused major birth defects.

I believe you might be better off not reading anything then. So many headlines are filled with editorial click bait, but then when you dig into the article you find that the headline is completely misleading.

One headline today said Dianne Feinstein is being accused of insider trading and dumping stock prior to the Coronavirus news being released. But read the article and her assets are all in a blind trust, but two other pols of the other party did the same thing without the alibi. She is just more well known and gets more people's attention.

I hate those posts that provide a link with no explanation as much as anyone. Especially a link to a long video. But you can't get mad at the OP if you don't have the time or patience to watch or read. Just ignore it and pass on. As you alluded to, there is too much information being thrown at us already.

There have been a few vaccines that had to be pulled because rhey had an unexpected effect worse than the disease they were preventing. Anyone who works in that arena knows the examples.

WAY too much information, and much of it HAS to be wrong. Journalists study writing and composition, not medicine or aviation or economics or anything else, and it shows. Just read the usual newpaper article about a plane crash. Full of hooey. Imagine the amount of hooey surrounding this pandemic.

The video I posted was by a physician who is part of a group studying this problem since its very inception. It is NOT from journalists nor politicians. THIS is why I posted it. Instead of attacking it look at it but maybe it is too advanced from some of you. You can look at a few minutes and decide what your time is worth. He documents what he says.It is scientific not the usual blah-blah that gets posted here.

Don't get mad because I have defended you against your critics about this. But it would have been helpful if you had said that in the original post.

It’s also very easy to create a vaccine that on the next round of infection causes a cytokine storm, and change a virus that has a 2% mortality rate into one that has a 20% mortality rate.

In fact it’s more likely than not that a given vaccine will have that response, which is why only about 1 in a 100 vaccine trials are successful.

Precisely

I don't consider "tldr" to be offensive, at all.. the initial "you're an idiot" or whatever clapback set the tone for the rest of the thread. Oh well.. with the lockdown I'll have plenty of YouTube time, etc., so will check out (maybe) the video above
