vote, don't vote, whatever.
Feel free to place your bet and the odds.

More importantly, will there be TP?

You just hit on how places will market getting back out. LOL.

“Come in for a beer and burger, stay for the clean and fully stocked s***ter!”

True. With the run on groceries, eating out may very well be the only way to eat for a bit. Sigh.

If it does happen, it's likely to be very sparsely attended.
For those age 70-plus - will your loved ones let you attend?

Straight in approach from Texas for you, my friend!

By the time Oshkosh rolls around nobody will remember the correct number after the word "COVID" on this virus round. The majority of us won't know anybody who contracted it, and even fewer will know anybody who died of it.
And the MSM and social media will be on to something else entirely in their never-ending over-dramatized attempts to frighten the citizens.

News today seems to have a decay half-life of about 10 weeks max. Anybody remember Greta?

The governor just banned all gatherings of more than 50 people. But I believe this will only be temporary. I think we will all be there in July. Please make it happen EAA. My other option is a Pez convention with the wife.

The prez just said this could go on into a July and August on the evening news (3/16). Take that for what it’s worth.

It's now no gatherings over 10 people, bars and restaurants are closed.

People... If you don't think AirVenture can be cancelled... WISCONSIN just shut down the BARS.

Also, from what I've seen, all this social distancing stuff that we're doing to delay and lower the peak means that the peak is going to happen in the July/August timeframe instead. Doesn't bode well for #OSH20. :(

The best we can hope for is that it does turn out to be more seasonal and that we don't need to be going to all these efforts to stay away.

I think people will remember it at minimum due to the financial, if not health, impacts. Lots of middle class impacts. My kids have friends whose parents are now living off of their savings. I think an event like Osh will be a discretionary spend that some will opt out of due to this event. Doesn’t matter if we believe whether the virus is as bad as they say. The econ impact IS bad.

Someone will discover a vaccine very quickly, win the nobel prize, and the presidential medal for freedom, and be appointed as head of the newly created Department of Pandemic Prevention. If all that happens by May, then Oshkosh will take place in July.

I agree. I was being a bit too flippant in that response.

The economic fallout from this is going to be enormous. Globally.
And attendance at OSH will be down significantly, assuming things normalize soon enough to actually continue to plan for and hold this annual event.

Looking worse every day this past week, let's see what next week brings us, but I'm not sure if will be any better. I fear that we are in this mess for a while, and events like OSH are bound to fall victim. I hate to say this but I think that we all need to face the reality of the impact of this virus will have on humanity for months to come.

I feel like it's the situation of that VFR Pilot who continues to fly into deteriorating MVFR conditions, convinced that better weather is in just the next mile.

Yup...

Sadly, I don't think Airventure is going to happen this year. I'll probably invite a couple of pilot buddies over to my house and make my traditional OSH margaritas and we'll all get drunk and talk about flying, but it's just not gonna be enough. :(

Alaskan Airmen show was just cancelled, as well. Not looking so great for any type of gatherings this year.

Hopefully you won't be under a CA/NY/Illinois style lockdown, otherwise you might even be able to do even that.

It would be interesting to see the results of that poll based on when people voted, from last Saturday to now.

Indeed! Is that some kind of data the MC might have available?

Possibly, but I am in no way the IT expert of the MC.

I only mention it because I didn't vote at first, but figured the July date was safe. Now I don't think so.

Ahh, I see you can change your vote... Right now it's just about even.

if Sun n fun doesn’t go on ,the EAA will be desperate to have at least one show,to keep GA alive.

One of my co-workers used to work at EAA and mentioned that they were talking about it, and I thought "There's no way they'll cancel."

That was a week and a half ago, at our office, that is now closed, and now I think "There's no way it'll go on."

Life has changed rapidly in the last 10 days.

FWIW, EAA only has one show, AirVenture, at the EAA HQ in Oshkosh. Sun n Fun is not an EAA event, it is the fundraiser for the Aerospace Center for Excellence. I believe at one time SnF was hosted by the local EAA chapter, but nowadays SnF has no official ties to EAA.

Yeah... I'm expecting a cancellation pretty soon. EAA just started having a big sale on their Airventure 2020 merchandise. :(

I ordered a T-shirt... At least I'll have that. :(

Hang on to that. Can you say “collector’s item”? o_O
