Dillingham Airfield - 22 Feb 2020

That sucks. I’m pretty sure I saw that airplane when I flew out of Dillingham 10 years ago. Wonder if one of the people killed was the CFI I flew with.
 
I got my Glider ticket there. Pretty good chance I knew them both. Have not heard any identifications yet.
 
Saw another article quoting a politician saying they needed to close the airport permanently to ‘protect’ people.

Dillingham is such a beautiful place. It would be a shame.
 
I'm sure that real estate developer, I mean politician, has the best interests of the citizens in mind. :rolleyes:

The proprty belongs to the US Army. Even without HDH there, it would remain a training site for the Army.

Maybe - Having gone through multiple iterations of BRAC I assure you transfer from the Army is a minor legislative event away if they want to.
 
Word coming out of Hawaii is that "Uncle Bill" from Kauai is one of the victims. That is another signature I will never get in my logbook again. :(
