The testing center has accused me of cheating on my IR written.

Nah, I just don't think the school was being malicious, (petty maybe) and the report (if limited to "this is what was posted") was not false. I think malice requires more than we see here.

And if it is anti-authority or some other harmful attitude to state that I am going to continue making jokes well I don't agree with that but if I am wrong.. I dunno. I don't think I am hazardous (and I paused and gave that a lot of thought)

Here's the problem I'm having with this. I didn't see you say anything about an apology until well into this thread. I also see you sticking to your guns about continuing to do this. To me, that means your apology is empty. You have avoided saying you wouldn't do it again, and you've made it clear you would. So how exactly are you sorry? It's more of a "I'm sorry . . . . that you have no sense of humor". That's not an apology.

I suspect this is all part of the joke. But I'm finding the taste to continue to sour the more I read.

I still find it ironic that Bryan's actions potentially caused this test center to be investigated by the FAA, which is what he complained about in the first place.

So a knowingly false report of FAR violation for “punishment” isn’t malicious. Gotcha.

with friends like you, one wouldn’t need any enemies, would one?

Even more reason for any idiot handling social media chores to not take anything too seriously.

Might miss humor in the sea of cat memes and a hundred posts like this one above and below their useless business crap cluttering the place up!

hahaha LOL :D
Brought back fond memories of my mom. Damn!

So some food for thought.

The flight school reported me.
This means they saw the post.
This means they know i posted it at 8:30 AM
This means they know my test was at 10:30 AM
This means they know I did not cheat.
This means they knowingly files a false claim against me to a federal agency.
Honestly I'd be kind of surprised if they didn't report it. Flight schools operate on thin margins. Being certified as a test location is another revenue stream for them. I would suspect the terms of their test center certification dictate they do exactly what they did whenever they discover evidence of potential cheating. Calling the customer and asking them to take the post down or investigating it themselves is not an option for them if they want to keep their certification. You can't really blame them for not wanting to lose that revenue stream over your facebook post.

Has anyone noted that the timestamp is 8:30 am and the testing center doesn't even open until 9?

The facility is not under any investigation. He is.

Well ... there was that one anonymous report to PSI corporate about a dodgy camera setup at one of heir facilities from “Biggis Dickis” from a Voip phone call that traces back to a server in Poland...

He says he’s seen much nicer facilities that were properly maintained. Thick accent.

Biggis likes “see something unverifiable online, say something”. He also likes Mel Brooks movies.

But i wouldn’t know anything about that. Haha.

Off go go post “Marked Safe from a moron at American Flyers” on Biggis’ brand new FB timeline now. LOL. He likes Facebook.

Biggis also posted on their comments he heard all of their proctors let everybody cheat. They’ll be turning in all of their test takers now, I’m sure.

Of course now we see if the camera footage goes mysteriously missing, which would trigger the FSDO butt they’re attempting to lick, to take a giant well-deserved dump on them.

* No I didn’t do the above. No you wouldn’t be able to trace or prove it if I did. Just an example for the morons in the crowd who don’t understand how the internet works yet. Maybe idiots don’t belong in charge of social media.

Biggis says hi.

IMHO, it was a CYA move on the part of American Flyers. People with no sense of humor could look at that post and report AF to the FAA.

That's why sometimes when I'm with a group of people affiliated with an organization and we do something, um, fun, we remind each other, "no social media".

Don't worry, these fun things don't have anything to do with aviation...

Ewwwww, TMI

Yes. To validate tamper-proofness, that investigator will need to gain access to Facebook's code and database stored procs. He may also want to sniff around their version control system or code deployment systems to make sure this rogue didn't code the change for this single instance and then code it back to how it was.

The perfect crime. It's like he stole the 1.6% extra on his IR written score ocean's 11 style and just walked off into the sunset. Ha Ha! FAA Rubes!

I didn't look at the original FB posting, did some llama actually give the answer in the comments? I think 'giving a cheater the answer' is way worse than 'a would-be cheater asking for the answer'

I’ve taken a PSI test outside of regular hours; my flight in was delayed due to wx.

Hey now...at least we know how to take a joke...

...just look at our Legislature...

Haha. Tell me about it, I just sent in my mail-in ballot. Looks like I’m over the hill from you in SJ.

I just passed my written exam. Got the results and all is good.
Today I get the email below. I spoke to the FSDO and they had no idea what this means.

I am on the phone w/ the testing center now and they said there is an investigation underway into potential cheating.

What in the actual hell????

They gave me 2 pencils, 2 pieces of paper and a test supplement.
Also I had an old metal style school E6B.

Dear BRYAN,

We regret to inform you that your account has been put on a registration hold. This means that any appointment you have currently scheduled will be cancelled and you will no longer be able to register for new exams.

Please contact your local Flight Standards District Office (FSDO) -

https://www.faa.gov/about/office_org/field_offices/fsdo/

Sincerely,

PSI

Sounds like you have a lawsuit against PSI or someone who initiated this at PSI.. Don't take that ****.

But they can not also default to guilty until proven innocent which seems to be be the course of action taken.
Sure they can. This isn’t a criminal action. By definition, all actions involving the FAA are guilty until proven innocent. Check history.

Man using some of you guys logic half my interactions with passengers would be an FAA investigation.

Pax "you look to young to be a pilot" (im 32 and get this surprising often)
Me "yeah I paid extra so their letting me sit up front" or any other number of semi snarky obviously false comment.

According to some If i did that on FB..
i made a public statement pax reported me for not being a pilot and apparently the faa has to investigate (really they have to?) and I'd deserve some sort of judgment.

Maybe im in the wrong but half of what i say is some sort of joke pun or obviously fake comment. When i took my ATP and type rating "do i give you the case of beer now or after the ride" when i took my written "open book right?"

When the FAA asi was in the CFI office and talking to someone about whiteout vs line through and initial. ASI "we get suspicious when we see a lot of whiteout" me "good thing i use the green color then"

According to half you guys i should be investigated for logbook falsification, trying to cheat on my written, trying to bribe my way through atp ride and not meeting the age requirements for 121 operations.

Instead i got similar jokes back, from the atp written lady and my FAA atp ride, and smiles from passengers and ASI.
Ok. But let's make it more like the incident in question.

Say you're in flight ops and just finished reviewing the paperwork and are just hanging out. You decide to post on Facebook, "Cockpit setup complete... just finished my pre-flight beer... ready to take off to Detroit," and you tag the airline you work for in the post. What do you think will happen?

Sometimes, when you poke a bear, even one you know by name, he grabs your dog and picks it apart like a Costco roast chicken.

Saw that in a dream last week, I kid you not.

I'll have one of what he's having ;)

but I don't like attention..so please don't read this post.

Reminds me of Petty Officer Third Class Jones telling the rest of the crew on the bridge the Admiral has no idea of what he's doing.
Except denverpilot does know what he’s talking about.

The lowest bidder contractor who’s only role is to watch video cameras aren’t tempered with and reboot PCs they don’t understand once their call center in India tells them to... somehow made Admiral, eh?

ROFLMAO.

I knew a franchisee personally. He was computer illiterate. Nice guy but shouldn’t have ever been running a test facility.

He eventually lost the testing franchise, but not over his literally nonexistent computer skills.

He definitely wouldn’t have had any idea how to manage a social media page.
Which is why/how I ended up in CAP - fixing his computers and dealing with his hassles.

After you go online claiming you are actively cheating on a test and cause an investigation, the FAA should suspend your medical on the grounds of cognitive issues.

Sounds like you have a lawsuit against PSI or someone who initiated this at PSI.. Don't take that ****.
Yeah, good luck with that. A private entity found something that could deemed as suspicious and put the account on hold pending investigation per their policy. Per their policy any upcoming appointments were cancelled. Expect the customer in question did not have any up coming appointments and therefore suffered no loss other than having to talk to the FSDO again due ultimately to his own actions. If you can find a lawyer who even give you the time of day on a case like this I'll eat a bug.

FYI... It's very easy to change the date and time of the post in FB.

It's also easy to manipulate the original posting time as well(with time-zones)

Well interesting. Why the eff do they allow that?

Now I’m off to go have Biggis’ friend “S***posting Bob” who has a much older account and a German IP address... post some complaints about the testing facility a couple months ago. That ought to be confusing to investigators.

Maybe confusing enough to tell utter morons to bot take ANY action on ANYTHING posted on a g-d social media website.

LOL!
