I dusted off some footage from a year ago, when I met friends in Kansas City. Had not been to MCI before, so I took the opportunity to check another Class Bravo airport from my bucket list.

I haven't been there in some years but that's some dull a** FBO to spend a day at.

I only spent a few minutes inside the FBO at MCI - only until the Uber arrived - but I felt very welcome there. The line and desk staff was very friendly and helpful.
Sure, they are a bit pricey, but then all the Class Bravo airports are.

Nothing to do with the employees working there, it's just a small place with not much to do or places to go. JFK and ATL and DFW are a couple of others where the FBO building is all by itself. We used to walk to the hotel for lunch at MCI though.

And if you have nothing better to do on this Friday afternoon, here is the departure from MCI.
It was a stunningly beautiful day, unlimited visibility, and I couldn't resist the temptation to fly low over the Kansas City's downtown area to enjoy the view.

Of course as class bravo airports go this is a pretty quiet one...

Yeah. The MCI controllers really like GA, it bumps up their traffic count.

Kansas City....that’s in Kansas right?

Part of it is. IXD and OJC are in Kansas; MCI and KMC are in Missouri.

Great video Martin! I've made that same flight (roughly) a few times.. IXD to CID. Lived in Cedar Rapids for 5 years, until recently.

any idea why you had information November and the American jet had Zulu?

Ah, thank you. Is that typical where airports are close to each other?

It is because Kansas City Downtown (MKC) uses Alpha through Mike and International (MCI) uses November through Zulu. American had slightly older information.
And that's what I love about the discussion of these flights: I just learned something new!

Thank you.
