182 down in Jackson Parrish, LA

Looks like they left HKS and made it about half way to SHV.
What is the confusing data... the time on Live Flight?

Or the unbelievable number of ads they can assemble on one web page? Holy hell..

There's a PIREP out right now (five hours post-accident) of light rime icing at 3,000' at Monroe.

Lost spatial orientation in IMC? Ice? Those are low temps and a decently close temp / dewpoint spread..

I would say icing is a high probability . Looks like trouble began at 1:42 ( 30 minutes prior to crash ) with variations in heading and speed. Airspeed began to drop and the final turn to the southwest began about 10 minutes prior to the crash. I believe there ware airmets out for icing with supercooled liquid droplets at the time.

Yup... I'm leaning towards icing as well. Also, flying in SLD? That's insanity, nobody is legal to fly in SLD, as it is well beyond the size of the legal certification requirements even for FIKI aircraft, this includes large turbine planes.

If this had happened in a certain composite plane everyone would have already jumped to the conclusion that he's a bad pilot and be hemming and hawing about some rich a##hole thinking he's invincible, which would divulge into trashing glass cockpits, etc. Happens in a 182 though and no one bats an eye

In the junk and not having pitot heat turned on could lead to a lot of confusion panic then
Disorientation
