Someone in a FB group found an old logbook in a box of things his mom picked up at a garage or estate sale. He’s trying to find the pilot’s family so he can return it.
He died in 1983. He was married to Mildred Robertson Scott on 18 May 1944. She's dead too (died in 2010. The obit is sparse and doesn't list family). I'm digging now further looking for children.
Apparently, from my research. They didn't have children. Charles had siblings but they're likely dead as well.
I just came across my dad's log books from his primary training in Pine Bluff Arkansas starting 9-4-43 thru delivering B-24J ferret named "Sunset" on 11-7/8-45 from J.R. Honolulu to Mather Cal on a 16:00:00 leg. I remember him telling me they wanted to fly under the Golden Gate Bridge but it was fogged in. I also found his airman certificate, airman rating record, and medical certificate, commercial airmen from April '46. He never did fly commercially, but flew with the reserves and was recalled for Korea.
