Anybody out there upgrading to GNX 375 to address ADSB out re.? Replacing a gps 175?
Looking for used GPS 175.

175 came out after the 375 so I wouldn’t hold my breath.
 
175 is kind of a outlyer/niche receiver. Assuming you want to comply with the adsb-out mandate, the only reason to get one is if you already have dual comms and adsb-out. That is my situation, sooooo.....maybe I’ll get lucky!
 
It's too new to have used units. If there is someone replacing for the limited time they've used it, they could probably sell as new.

Hi~ I am in the process of replacing an old Garmin GPS 155 with a new GNS 175. My experience so Far: I put in two (2) G5's last year along with a GMU11. Work was done by Pete at John Lane Warren County Airport I68. the G5's were about $2300 each and the GMU11 around $400. Labor was around $2800. These were a great upgrade to my 1966 PA28-180. Pete also took out the old vacuum system and pump.
This year 2020 I bought a GNS 175 from Layfette Avionics for $4095 and am having it installed by Warren County. Labor was quoted at $1,000. Found out, that in order to use one of the G5's as an HSI for GPS approaches, I have to buy a GAD29 ($425) to convert the GNS175 signal to digital so it will show in the G5/HSI. Labor will be a couple more hours.
In all my questioning to Garmin this was not clear. Pete and Kendal at Warren county have done a nice piece of work, and have been making sure the wire management is good and tight. My point here, is that it seems in all aircraft avionics, there is project creep.
On another note: I fly with Foreflight. In order to upgrade the GNS175 with out having to take out the SimCard, I may have to convert to Garmin Pilot and buy a (I think)a Garmin 512 BluetoothCard that communicates from my IPad to the GNS175. More project creep. I may just forego this for now.

Is pushing an SD card into a slot to upgrade the dB really that difficult?

See my Infor in the string. I have replaced the old vacuum system with two G5's. I also am in the process of installing a GNS 175. This should give me GPS approaches. I did have to also purchas a GMU11 and a GAD29 to make everything communicate. I did not opt for a GNS375 as that gets up around $6,000. I have a King Nav/Com ILS and this will have to do for now, don't know why I would need dual Comm's, but Comm's are around $1300 and this may be the next upgrade. I don't fly heavy IFR and only wanted the GNS175 to get me down, in a bad weather situation. I don't know of any used GNS175's on the market as they are pretty new.
 
I wish the GNX 375 had been available in 2017 when I upgraded to a GTN 650 and GTX 345 (for almost 3x the cost). I had a perfectly good KX 170B that I could have left in slot 2 for backup comms, and I'd have had over 10 extra AMUs for new paint, a new interior, or anything else I wanted.

Plus, the GNX 375 has Connext wireless for flight-plan sync with a tablet built in for free, while it's an extra 1.5 AMU to buy the FS 510 for the GTN (the GTX 345 gives you weather and traffic wirelessly, but not the flight plan).
 
I ended up installing a Stratus ADSB in/out and replacing one of my Collins Nav/Comms with a Garmin 355 coupled to my G5 and mechanical HSI and A/P.

Won't wear out or break the slot if you don't use it. The flat rate repair cost will probably pay for a FS510 if it got broken.
