watching whats coming in 4.5 ... very impressed with what they are doing with the wx layer.

seriously considering switching over from the big G

I like Wing X... It has all the needed features for me and not difficult to figure out. I played with my buddies Foreflight the other day and hated it.

The developer for WingX hasn't been on the various forums as much as he was in the past. So I've lost touch of the new and recent developments....

Please share a short list of the new and improved items if you're willing.

I really don't know of any improved items. I use it as a moving map... That is it.
I can see my weather and airspace stuff.
Touch the airport for airport info. Scroll any airport to center of screen and it gives the frequencies. I like the runway extensions with the tips that show traffic pattern.
It is just simple. I love simple. I usually put my destination in my Garmin and just leave the ipad on for awareness.
Foreflight does so much crap and I don't feel like figuring it out cause I don't like it. LOL!

I tried both Garmin and ForeFlight side by side for awhile. I eventually decided that I liked ForeFlight better. I've been using it now for a couple of years. Its OK. But, when I get my RV-8 flying, I'll have dual Skyview screens with FlyQ. I'll have a small Andriod tablet with Avare. I know I'll have a complete EFB on the Skyview. But, I like something I can hold up to my face when I feel the need, like the old paper charts.

i'm new to using EFB's.
So with these things, how do you find the info that would be found in the margins of the old paper charts....info on MOA's for example?
I've been playing with the garmin pilot demo, but I'll assume most all of these just stitch the charts together so all that info is just clipped out of the chart

There aren't many. New mapping engine and plates over maps, but ended up being more bugs than features. @Martin Pauly was a long-time user who recently turned away. He'd be the best one to answer the question.

Depends on the EFB. Some have an "unstitch" capability. Foreflight does but I have it turned off because I never use it. In most, they simply integrate the information with a simple tap and hold on the area and maybe two touches. Here are three examples, one from Foreflight

ahhh. that's logical! Hopefully they thought of a way to tag the correct center contact freq in those pop-ups as well.
Thanks!

Sometimes the frequency sometimes just the name, but that's true of the chart legend too.

Looking forward to the new features in FlyQ. The new version was delayed due to changes in the underlying Apple code base.

I did the FF FlyQ evaluation years ago and picked FlyQ. Since then I’ve used the (crummy) Jepp charts app in the cockpit and played a bit with FF. I’m staying with FlyQ.

And just the WingX example for comparison
