Correct, 600/day. Cirrus (SR22) or cabin class (eg PC12) is more. No money up front. Travel and expenses are extra. I also contribute to the active IFR community at no charge. Thx.. -Phil

Hello Phil, a couple questions. Where would you be flying in from? How do you handle the ground school and testing part of the rating. Would you be administering the oral and practical check ride? Thanks, MBS C182P based at KARB

I did the IFR6 . I traveled from
Austin, stayed 7 days in South Carolina, meals out ,Uber, and all that went with it. I Thought it was a good Idea, DPE"s here are hard to get..Covid screwed up everything, I took the written two times over the many years trying to get ready. With travel and all with IFR6 I spent $11,000. Flew a total of 7 hours in a their rented 50 year old 172 with many problems and outdated avionics .Did 6 approaches. Spent many more hours in a lame simulator. Who needs a simulator when your ready for a check ride? Doing the math, without the stimulator, I spent $1500 an hour. With the SIM I spent $600 an hour in each training unit. Call me stupid. Phill sounds like a deal. My one, of many mistakes, was not taking my plane to South Carolina.

I also have a 182 based at KARB and want to get my IFR. If you get this set up maybe we could piggy back.

Sure I'd be happy to help. Please review our website www.accelerated-ifr.com and give me a call and let's see if we can work out a schedule, if you're still interested. Thx, Phil

After seeing this post back in 2019 I contacted Phil and ended up doing an accelerated IFR with him in my 182. It was a great experience. Phil is a top notch instructor with a world of experience and great teaching methods. I felt well prepared going into the checkride and passed. Highly recommended
