Looking for something to impress the missus for a weekend, but <$500/nite.
(Anniversary)
Never had any luck with evaluating hotels from their websites or reviewsites.
Within 30 minutes of KTUS.

I’ve stayed at every hotel around the airport and they all stink. Next time I go I was thinking about trying one of the casinos. Desert diamond or casino Del sol.

Resorts in Star Pass?

Westin La Paloma?

Have never been to them but have heard they're nice. Have to be better than those around the airport.

It is further out, but the Ritz is definitely the place there.

The one time we flew, they arranged a shuttle from the airport for us.

We often book their $99 specials during August. :)

Why Tucson? Globe AZ the Apache Casino has a runway just feet from their building.

If thats a picture of your plane, Scottsdale is 30 minutes North with tons of nice hotels and restaurants and an airport KSDL.

As someone that has lived in Tucson most of my life, I'll offer my perspective. You can stay in a resort that could be in Tucson, Chicago or Miami or you can stay somewhere with some local charm. Personally I like Hacienda del Sol. It is uniquely Tucson, small, intimate with a fantastic restaurant, wine list and very nice pool. It was originally a girl's boarding school.

White Stallion Ranch is another uniquely Tucson place, a dude ranch. It is really a neat place:

If you want a more traditional resort but still with some Tucson inspiration, there's the JW Marriott Starr Pass.
