Final Approach
Is there any way to recover files that were deleted? Nothing big here. Just a few tv shows that got deleted off my NAS by accident. If I can't do it, no big deal.
Something to try. Thank you!I haven't done it in quite a while, but I think the photorec tool in Testdisk would be a good place to start.

I was able to get that program running. 67 hours till completion. lolI haven't done it in quite a while, but I think the photorec tool in Testdisk would be a good place to start.

me thinks not. LOL it was an accident anyway.Next time do `shred -u`
A bunch of programs disappeared from my DVR program on my NAS. I deleted a whole series and later on I noticed another series was completely gone. I do not know if I did it accidentally or if the program did it accidentally. No big deal but I was not using the command line, but a GUI app remotely.first thing I do with any new system (linux)
alias rm "rm -i"
Doesn't solve all problems, but it's a first try to offset my stupidity.
NetApp and/or .snapshot directory is a bit more thorough.alias rm "rm -i"
Doesn't solve all problems, but it's a first try to offset my stupidity.
Surprised the DVR program doesn't have a scheduled delete feature. Usually programs of that ilk mark programs for deletion and then does it for real only when space goes below a set threshold.A bunch of programs disappeared from my DVR program on my NAS.
