Is there any way to recover files that were deleted? Nothing big here. Just a few tv shows that got deleted off my NAS by accident. If I can't do it, no big deal.

I haven't done it in quite a while, but I think the photorec tool in Testdisk would be a good place to start.

I was able to get that program running. 67 hours till completion. lol

Thank you!

Next time do `shred -u` ;)

first thing I do with any new system (linux)

alias rm "rm -i"

Doesn't solve all problems, but it's a first try to offset my stupidity.

A bunch of programs disappeared from my DVR program on my NAS. I deleted a whole series and later on I noticed another series was completely gone. I do not know if I did it accidentally or if the program did it accidentally. No big deal but I was not using the command line, but a GUI app remotely.

NetApp and/or .snapshot directory is a bit more thorough.

Surprised the DVR program doesn't have a scheduled delete feature. Usually programs of that ilk mark programs for deletion and then does it for real only when space goes below a set threshold.

67 hours. Eesh.

Far quicker to download new porn^H^H^H^HTV Episodes
LOL

I fixed the time issue last night. I figured out how to get the program to only find deleted .ts files, not everything. It was done this morning and only found 47 GB in fragments. Oh well, no big deal and I learnt more about Linux in the process.
