I was at KPOU last week and was told the restaurant would be reopening. Well, It appears Paula’s Runway Cafe opened this past Monday. Hope to get there soon and post a Pirep, unless someone beats me to it.

That would be good last time I stopped by it was like a ghost town.

Is it run by the Tail Winds folks?

Since the town shut down the Sky Acres restaurant, nice to have an alternate in the area.

I went yesterday, but just had coffee due to time restraints. Paula was there and very nice. $0.15 off avgas with purchase receipt from cafe.
POU is nice and easy to fly to and I land there every 10-15 hours just to keep my head in the tower based system. No landing fees or anything like that. The tower controllers actually want all the traffic they can get so that they don’t get their services and money downgraded. So stop by and do a few touch and gos and their numbers get inflated.

That's my go-to airport for night landings if I haven't had enough night flight in the past 3 months.

BTW, a new restaurant has opened at Sky Acres (44N) just east of KPOU. Hangar's Cafe (https://www.hangarscafe.com/). For now only on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. I was there for a Sunday lunch. All the tables were full. Food was more ambitious than the standard airport cafe and very good.

My flying buddy and I were there on Monday. He had a Rueben and I had a burger. The cook sent out another bowl of onion rings because he wasn't happy with the first batch. He thought they were over cooked. Both sets were delicious, one of them crispier and browner. The burger was delicious and juicy.

They also were giving out free desserts and were very attentive. Right inside the terminal building by the tower, no fee for single engine and the line guy parked us. Got a discount on fuel with a restaurant receipt. Very nice place and I'd go back there anytime.

Mike
