Hi everybody!
I'm from Argentina, I'm traveling to the US looking for a C150.
I found one at Watertown Muni Airport, Wisconsin, and I need a good mechanic for a pre-buy inspection. Any recommendation?

If you can get it down to Burlington, WI (BUU), Spring City Aviation employs a couple of great machanics. They did the prebuy on my Arrow last fall and currently are my main maintenance shop.

Talk to Sam (owner) or Bill (Director of Maintenance) at Plane Safe Aircraft Maintenance. They're based nearby at Waukesha but have a truck for mobile service.

I would recommend you NOT use Wisconsin Aviation which is located at Watertown. I actually have no direct experience with their maintenance operation in Watertown, but their maintenance at Madison is terrible.

Hands down best guys in the area is Erich Rempert at Burlington Air center on the field KBUU. Good prices, fair, nice to work with.

Although I endorsed Spring City at BUU, I can heartily endorse Erich at Burlington Air Center as well....my plane is in his (and Pat’s) capable hands as we speak getting some new avionics. Both are great shops.

KBUU is about 45 minutes South East by C150 from KRYV. Nice Demo flight. KBUU is an easy airport to fly in/out in a new plane. Did it on my check ride pump-up as a student.

You’ll pass within 14nm of the Badger VORTAC near KUES Waukesha airport to test any Nav radios.

I did not intent to minimize the recommendation for Spring City. I’ve just had fantastic service with Erich on multiple occasions. Nice that he’s also an Avionics shop should that type of work be needed. Hopefully between the 2 shops they have an opening to help.
