Gaston’s Fly-in Oct 4-6, 2019!

In. Departing 2 pm. Figure in around 6 pm.

I have tried 90 different permutations of schedule arrangement and I am not going to be able to make this work.
I really hoped to at least pop in for a bit during the day tomorrow but I can't make it work.

That two busts in a row for me. This and 6Y9.

Teresa and I are watching niece and nephew while their parents attend a wedding in NY, so we and Birdie are out.

Sweet! We’ll only fish half the day so we can see ya
Cool, look forward to seeing you two...as always! We'll try to be there by 11 or before and will need to back be in the air by 1:30 to beat some afternoon t-storms that are forecast to roll into SGF by 3 or so.

My new squeeze, Gerri, will be joining me!

Maybe 6 people total?
Exactly.

John & Susan and Dana & Daiva were all spending the weekend. Gerri and I flew down and had lunch and a hike with them yesterday. It was a beautiful day for a hike and a visit.

It's an interesting morning around here for them to be leaving.

Interesting to say the least. TAFs were not accurate and Wx was worse than forecast. Dana and I (wisely) repositioned to Baxter County last night. Planned to be at the airport at 0700. Woke up to a line of t-storms moving west to east across N AR. Watched it till 10, saw a possible break coming and headed to the airport. Filed IFR and hauled a$$. Dana may hav a harder time of it since he had to go north. Might be stuck for the night.

As for the fly-in, well Dana and Daiva and Tim and Gerri were good company. Got a little fishing in and drank some good home brew.

Yeah, definitely interesting, and it didn't blow out by noon like yesterday morning's early forecast was calling for either, it stayed rainy until about 5pm...at least it did up here. Did Dana and Daiva (@masloki) make it out okay?

They were saying on the local news this morning that some of NW AR just west of Gaston's...like from Harrison over the Fayetteville...got 10" over the weekend!!!

Yup, made it home all safe in the evening. With the storm moving so slow and some weakening I found a decent option to head on out. Agree though that the forecasts were crap. Winds went up to 35 kts tail to 25 kts head - so that was fun.
