4 place experimental high wing that can travel

Where? I’m not finding any for sale.

Yeah nothing right now but give it a couple of months and you’ll see something on Barnstormers. Like a Cozy IV, they aren’t everywhere but it’s still possible to get a used one if you’re patient.

Show me one for sale anywhere. I find 9 in the entire Faa registry.

Unicorn.
According to the website, apparently Hollmann's widow is trying to sell the prototype Super Stallion. The FAA registry shows Rita Costa-Hollmann is still the owner, so it's probably still for sale.

Aircraft Designs website said:
Martin Hollmann’s Super Stallion,
4 seater prototype, is for sale.

Design package and production rights can be purchased separately.

For additional purchase information, please contact Rita Costa-Hollmann.

The Glasair Sportsman looks really cool. Too bad you don't have $300K lying around.

Buy a 182. Change it to experimental.

Not realistically.

Depends. The 2 available categories would be Exhibition or R&D. Based upon a thread on this subject over on the EAA Forums, it is doable assuming you do something to the aircraft that would make it eligible for either or those 2 experimental categories. http://eaaforums.org/showthread.php?2609-Converting-Certified-Aircraft-to-Experimental

Having said that, my advice is the same I posted in this thread back in Oct, just buy a 182 or Cardinal and call it good.

That's the conclusion I was coming to, that's why I started the thread to see if I was missing anything.

Another vote for the Cardinal.
One of the easiest ingress/egress light planes ever. And the most attractive of the high wing Cessnas imo.
But only if you can stand going slower than the Mooney. :)

I'm always thinking about the next airplane, but this thread is almost a year old. I've dumped a bunch of cash into the Mooney panel now. Thanks for the suggestions anyway guys. lol

I don't think I missed any. The Bede, Bearhawk, regular Sportsman and Comp Air are all over 150 kts.

Lack of needing suggestions will never slow down people offering advice...... :)

Ah, missed the necro.

Hope the Mooney is awesome

How about a Cardinal RG? I know it’s slower, but you have to ask yourself if you really need all the speed of the Mooney. Probably the easiest plane to get in and out of and one of the sexiest planes around. Great visibility, too. You might even find one with an updated panel. Just a thought.

Sorry - didn’t read the whole thread before suggesting the Cardinal.

Still waiting for the day I can put in a modern autopilot, but otherwise it's pretty sweet.

Friend of mine sold his Mooney for the same reason, wife couldn't get in. Now he flies nothing. He wanted into a Skylane for what he got out of his Mooney. Ain't gonna happen, not in this lifetime.
