[NA] Ugh did I mess up? [NA]

This doesn't feel good... shoot first, ask questions later? Really? Death penalty by private lone judge, jury, and executioner for what may be just abject stupidity and terrible judgement? Caught physically harming someone, or lethal force used to save an innocent life...absolutely. I've carried for 25 years. No issues at all there. The direction this thread has taken is why so many people take such a dim view of us "gun nuts." This is one of the few times I don't blame them.

Lots of landscaping companies are a one-man show. The guy driving the truck is the guy that owns the company. Kind of hard to get a guy fired when he works for himself.

That is an assumption.

It doesn't have to be a call to get him fired. There might be a reasonable explanation. I dunno what that would be though.

I’m fairly certain the “shoot first” comments above are tongue-in-cheek. Get your panties out of a wad, no one is truly suggesting lethal force in this particular instance.

We haven't seen the video, and it depends on what's on it. It crossed a line for 6pc or he wouldn't have done what he did, I imagine. I don't need to see the video, I believe 6pc when he says it was inappropriate, even if nothing illegal occurred.

As a father, if I have video evidence of a person and it is CLEAR that that person is a predator, I'll hurt them. Not necessarily with a gun. What can I say, in my younger days I've done worse in reaction to less.

This is one of those things that you never know how you will react until you're in that situation. I will not let predators get away with their deeds against my family.

:yeahthat:

It was mostly intended as a satire of the way threads usually drift on PoA, and I'm sure that our resident master of satire, @SixPapaCharlie , took it as such.

My daughter had 2 friends spend the night last night.
They went to the park to play.

While walking back to the house, a landscaping vehicle drives by. They waved at him.
He stops, rolls down his window, holds up some cash and says "You girls want some money?"
They were already filming themselves being goofy so I have a video of the exchange.

It was a little creepy so I notified the local police and posted that this happened to our neighborhood fb page. No crime was committed it was just suspicious and may just have been a stupid attempt at being funny on his part. At any rate, they went the other direction and he drove off.

I have seen his vehicle in the neighborhood many times as he works for a local landscaping company. After the girls told me the story and I looked at the photos, I drove the neighborhood looking for him. He wasn't around.

Someone took my post and reworded it stating "This man is using money to lure little girls into getting into his truck" to which people are saying "Shoot the M-Effer" and of course her version of the post has spread 100 times over now.

The police said I did the right thing to notify them and raise awareness.

I don't know if the guy was being cute or if he is a creeper. I did what I thought I should do and note something suspicious. For people to be saying he is a creeper and should be shot concerns me.

Did I handle this poorly.

F no, you did the right thing, there is no cute in a stranger offering girls money, nor is it funny. Screw that guy, he deserves what's coming to him. (not being shot, but the cops finding him.)

I absolutely agree that 6PC should have reported that to the cops. It's worth having them take a second look taken at the perp. That is not something I would post on social media however, at least under normal circumstances. I wasn't in 6PC's shoes however so I can't really judge.
