Gaston’s Fly-in Oct 4-6, 2019!

Lots of planes and a runway inspection!

Anyone have one of those spreadsheets handy as a template with tail number, arrival date, bringing food for Saturday night, etc? Me, N405FA, Friday, homebrew beer (doppelbok, but also taking a request).

I might try to be there. I have to be back in Reno by the 11th so we’ll see. I am in Texas now heading to New England.

It looks like there is going to be a gathering with out of town family that weekend, so I'm probably out. :(

Jesse also used to fly a blue and white Cherokee...

We have a cabin reserved so will likely have an extra bedroom and a couch available.

Cool. If I make use of anyone's floor space, closet space, couch space, I will pay my pro-rata share of whatever is needed.

I also used to have a blue and white cherokee. Or at least you see it was blue and white during the day.

I remember him arriving one year with the Fly Baby.

Pretty sure that pic was pre-Fly Baby. Pretty sure the pic is from 2008. I flew in the dearly departed N271G in the pic. I can see @bbchien's Seneca farther down the row. I think this was also the year that the other side of the runway was packed solid quite a ways down as well, best turnout we ever had at Gaston's. The maroon and white Cherokee on the close side of N271G I think might be Kevin's - I can't remember his handle here, but I think Dani rode up with him, and there was an attempt to turn it into a seaplane...

It was definitely not 2009 - I looked back through my pics, and that was the year of the bridesmaids, so I had N8483F down there that year, not N271G. I also had 83F in 2007. There weren't nearly that many planes there in 2006, even fewer in 2005. In 2010, I took a Citabria. So yeah, that has to be 2008.

The year of the Fly Baby was the year that Spike and I flew in with Dave S. and his King Air. And Kimberly was along to help aerate the runway in her spike heels and provide a particular duck the best view of the weekend when she took a ride in @Greg Bockelman's Cessna 195.

OK, that's a year I wasn't there. 2013.

Man...I know I'm not flying but I'll talk to the wife and see if she has interest. Cant be that long of a drive...

Certainly should have some good scenery along the way.

I'll definitely try to make it down for at least a "day visit" on saturday. May come prepared to spend the nigh...in case someone has space for me to crash.

And due to other people's conflicts... I'm back in! Woohoo!

Well, if I can get someone to take over my on-call days on the TBM that weekend... Yes, you must be employed here first. Sorry.

I am otherwise committed. Cannot come.

Heartsick.

I am also unlikely, We are supposed to have our bird back next Monday with the new G5's and GFC500 autopilot installation but Garmin still has not shipped the bracket for the rudder servo. Two weeks late. I was really looking forward to seeing Ruby! and swapping a few Brewskies!

Fishing would have been a plus too, here is a pic from my trip last month.

Will have to be a day trip Saturday if the weather is good. Committed Sunday morning.

It's all weather and last minute room availability dependent for me.

If they do get the parts to complete my airplane do they allow setting up a tent and camping under a wing if the rooms/cabins are sold out?

If I can find someone in the area willing to let my son spend the night at their house Saturday night, I am coming.
Wife and daughter are doing an all nighter for Girl Scouts. man... Maybe I just bring him with me if I can't find him a place to crash.

Yes! Do it!

I'm a solid maybe. :) If the weather works out and more importantly I get my plane back and the test flight goes okay...we are planning on swinging by for a bit.

Man, why is everyone's plane in pieces already? Save that **** for February! :D

Hope you can make it!

(Yes, I overused exclamation points here).

And yes, I swapped weekends with someone so I'm in. As a result, I "have to" fly a quick turn to Minneapolis in the TBM tomorrow. Woe is me.

No, they don’t. We have an extra room with two beds and a couch open if you make it.

I still plan to make it down for lunch and a visit on Saturday...weather permitting...

Garmin still has not delivered all of the servo components. I attached a picture of my panel taken yesterday afternoon.Autopilot install wiring.JPG
