Partnership vs Own Plane

For me there's a lot of value in getting to the airplane and knowing it's available and exactly like I left it. My headsets are plugged in, I know how much fuel I've got, and I know the condition of the airplane is just as it was when I last pushed it into my T-hangar. I also don't want to quibble with anybody else over disagreements about maintenance and upgrades.

I just don't think a partnership would work for me.

Could be on the edge of too many. I’m in a partnership with 2 others on a PA24 and it works nicely.

Agree. 2 cuts costs in half. 3 in thirds. Etc.

Diminishing returns at 4+ with risk of double the scheduling conflicts of 2.

Yeah. Same here. I’m thinking about a partnership for a second plane though. ;)

That thought has occurred to me, too. Today on the rare occasion when I want to take more than one passenger on a day trip, I rent a 172 or 182. If I did that more often, I might consider a partnership.
