What might a twin-tailed symbol mean?
V-tail Bo?
V-6 or V-8 engine?
In-flight breakup?

Looks like a duck. Did it quack like a duck?

Ghost track while the traffic was maneuvering? What happened afterwards?

Aircraft is turning.....

And just to be clear, it’s not a tail. The whisker is a target trend. The target diamond is going towards the line. If that line is pointing at YOU, you better pay attention.

More accurately described as a vector line and the longer the line, the faster the target.

I think he's wondering why there are two lines. I'm guessing the plane was maneuvering.

What is their function on the 530?
"The vectors extending from the traffic targets display how the traffic target is moving relative to the ground. The vector length is fixed and has no correlation to the speed of the target."

My guess is that there are 2 aircraft at the same location and it is showing the altitude difference of the closest one to you. The duckbill is the two different headings.

The 750 will put an "*" when two or more targets are at the same location.

Just an FYI, this is not the case for the newer equipment. The whisker is tied to time; I forget off the top of my head what it is, but I sorta recall it being 30 seconds. or in other words, at the end of the whisker, the target plane will be at that location in the specified time assuming no change in track.
