Shortly thereafter, they sent another one saying homebuilt parking was open.

Traffic on the webcam looks busy enough without those wasps swarming right in front of the Vintage cam. So close they look like yellow condors.

Ended up getting a reservation at Motel 6 in Appleton (around 2p), since Scholler is closed. Set up our table and chairs in the parking lot and grilled ribeyes & Indiana sweet corn.

Wow what's that cost at the last minute?
I have a crap hotel room in Appleton at the Roadway Inn.
I booked it a month ago and I think it was something like $330 / night.

$122. My buddy booked it. I have no idea how that works. I’m surprised anything was available, let alone the price...but I guess it is 3x the normal rate. Think of the interior of a worn out Cessna 150 trainer with 18,000 hours and we have the hotel version of that.

Glad I didn’t bring a black-light. Those ain’t cigar burns in the carpet.
Sink drain makes a pleasant waterfall sound in use...leaks to carpet. (Darker stain, not the shadow).

Just heard @Radar Contact call inbound for KATW. Listening to scanner while waiting for the late risers in my group.
Last OSHARRIVAL notice was that FISK was saturated and expect an 1:15 wait in the hold.
Looking over at the 27 arrival there are major gaps. Not sure what hold up is

Got in an hour ago. All set up. Had to hold once out at green lake since I got there right before 7. Made a self induced hold around rush lake for planes that think 80 knots is 90 knots. Actually got rolled pretty good from getting too close. After that straight on in.
