Hi everyone !

New student pilot here! I have 12 hours logged so far at time of this post.

Anyways.

So Sunday morning at 10am i arrived at the KTMB and met with my CFI and we flew around till about 11:40 did a bunch of touch and goes and worked on my flight patterns. On our last full stop we landed perfect and i was taxing back to my CFI's hanger and pulled off the taxiway and noticed 4 black suvs "new caddys" lined up in a row in the hanger next to my CFI's hanger. His is the last hanger in the strip on the left. So i slowed down as much as i could, because the suv's where taking up so much space in between the rows of hangers and there was a bunch of big guys in black suits " it was super hot and humid not a good thing to wear" standing all around so i barely squeeze by in our 172. On the right side i am about a 1 foot from the opposite hangar and on the left i was about 3 feet from the head one of the security people standing around. I as drive by he gives us a bad look and did not even move. So i reach the end of the hangar road and i put the brakes on and i notice one of big security guys is on the right side behind the wing. My CFI tells me finish the shutdown procedure and as he is getting out of the plane the big security guy yells at my CFI to stay in the plane. My CFI tells him excuse me? and to get the f*** away from his airplane and then my CFI walks inside his hanger. Wile my CFI is inside and i am in the process of finishing my shutdown. Mind you i am in the middle of revving the engine to 1700 to check the magnetos i see the security guy come over to my side and tells me to get out of the plane. I yelled at him to stay back until i shut the plane down and its not safe to be standing by the aircraft and are you stupid get back!! I revved it down real quick and shut it off. So then my CFI comes out of the hanger now with a bat telling them to get away from his hanger and his plane and to leave his student alone. Then a guys comes running over who turns out to be a grant cardone " from what i am told after" and starts to apologies to my CFI. My CFI tells him that his people are stupid to come near a running aircraft. The hanger manager of signature also shows up now. My CFI must have called him and he ended up apologizing to my CFI as well and said how unsafe the security teams actions where and how he would address it.

I had to post this, I am new the piloting world but this was crazy. I mean who runs up to a running plane?

Do i need to yell clear all the time or something?

What a day.

P.S " yea i know my grammar sucks";)

Who were the guys and who were they with?

Apparently Grant Cardone and his security team.

His security where the ones right by my aircraft like dummy's. They did not look educated more of big muscle then brains.

Who???

Chop up the first guy with your prop, the rest will get the message.

How is access to these hangars governed ? Who let these fools onto the airfield ?

Lets hear it for living in Bumphuk West Egypt and having no high muckity mucks here. CFI had the right idea, though I like the idea of a shotgun better than a bat. Takes someone significantly dumber than rock to run up to an airplane burning dead dinos. Kind of a pity the OP didn't have beta.

There’s dumb and then there’s just....I don’t even have a word for it. <sighs>

While I understand natural selection, and don't have issue with it, I would hate to see any aircraft have a prop strike that damaged engine, or damaged prop, I think it could depend on speed of prop & size of person & how hit? plus who would be financially responsible for damage, the idiot that gets injured killed, or aircraft owner?

off topic, a drunk driver speeding on a back road hit a friend of mine head on, many years ago. the drunk driver was killed, drunk driver had no insurance, no license, even vehicle wasn't registered, no assets, my friends truck was totaled, my friend only had liability, so he lost everything & had to buy another vehicle & struggle financially until paid for, he had no way to collect anything from someone that had nothing.

I actually grew up in Bumphuk West Egypt.

Just curious, why the magneto check before shutdown???

Easy and quick to do; allows you to call maintenance now rather than just before the next flight, thereby improving your dispatch rate....

If what you are reporting here is accurate, this is serious, and needs to be addressed. Your FISDO needs to be informed immediately of this activity. I would also inform my local law enforcement.

Closest thing I got to the "black SUV" moment was during the 2012 election campaigns. I landed in Topeka, KS for lunch the TOP cafe. I taxied past police cars and motorcycles, past black Suburbans, and a lot of guys in dark suits. I parked and asked the line guy what was up. The KS primaries were that day (Topeka is the Capitol) and one of the candidates was flying in for a speech. A minute later a jet parked behind me and Rick Santorum got out. I was standing on the wing of the Archer, he saw me and gave me a big thumbs up and then got into his waiting vehicle and the whole motorcade drove off. So I have that going for me.

At least they all kept their distance from me.

They may have violated some federal law or other. It would be nice to find out ...

Most of the time private security guys aren't hired for their intelligence.

Nope. They're typically hired from the neck down.

Idiots. The lot of them. I've never heard of the guy they were providing "security" for, either. Come running up to my plane while I'm in the process of shutting down and my reaction wouldn't be pretty, either. Who does this idiot think he is, anyway? Call law enforcement and file a formal complaint. Let them sit in jail for a while.

I had to google that name -- never heard of the guy before. Airport fences keep some morons out, but not all of them.

Me too! All I had to see was "millionaire sales guru". That told me all I needed to know. Ugh!!!!

No need to yell. There is a universal hand signal that would have worked quite nicely. Its even aviation related, its call 'the bird'.

I woulda read him the riot act too. Fortunately the guy apologized, for me that would be good enough if no harm was done but if not... I'd have probably considered calling the police and pressing some charges. There's got to be some kind of law along the lines of it being illegal to interfere with the operation of a civil aircraft.

And how would it matter to rich guy? Remember, laws are for us regular Joes, not for rich people. *shrug*

Only if regular joes let them get away with it I think. Press the charges, spread it across social media, etc. They might have the lawyers but if it's visible enough the public won't be ok with that kind of thing.

Do you have the "castle doctrine" where you live? We do!

I wouldn't want to kill somebody over it either. Come on, guys... it's an idiot move by someone who has no business roaming around a row of T-hangars, not a deadly assault.

Do you have the "castle doctrine" where you live? We do!
There would have to be a threat of grave bodily harm or death to justify Castle Doctrine or Stand Your Ground. A guy yelling wouldn't cut it.

Doubt many people at an airport would even know who this guy is to justify that amount of security. Never heard of him either.

Apparently Grant Cardone and his security team.

This guy? o_O

1:32 "You're collecting Lambos, and I'm buying Gulfstreams. Tsk. This is the model they gave me when I paid cash for the jet."

Was there enough room to do a 180-turn to face away from the security team and then commence a pre-shutdown full power run up?

unsure who that idiot is trying to impress? but he needs to give same speech at any true 1% biker party especially on east coast, to see how much he can impress them, & welcome to bring his "thugs" along, I would pay to watch the video of that outcome. LOL!

Yeah yeah but what kind of plane did he show up in??

Anyone who lays out G550 cash is an idiot for too many reasons to type out. (I can’t even afford the model of it, though, but I’m not an idiot. Weird.)

Why? I don't finance anything anymore. If it's for personal use and you've got the cash why not? And don't give me this crap about opportunity cost and all that garbage, because there are no guaranteed investments that pay out more than interest you'd pay on a loan. Guaranteed, not "the history of this fund shows..."
