Been watching a YouTube training series featuring John Burt as the CFI. Anyone know how to get hold of him?

Thanks

He used to do tailwheel and aerobatics out of a little grass strip near Knoxville called Sky ranch (not sure if he still does). Give them a call and maybe they can put you in contact with him.

Thanks. I tried calling them with no luck yet.

He did my instrument. Hes expensive but he got me done in the legal minimum. 10 hours desktop sim 5 in the plane. Says his ppl students usually take checkride around 40hrs. 75hr for instructor and 155 for the 172.

Hes good has a bit of military gruffness sometimes.
Hes based out of a few hangers at kdkx. I dont have his number anymore but call down there they probably know how to reach him.

Thanks. Will try and contact him again the airport. Used to military gruffness.

Between earning my PPL and starting my IR, I did an 8 lesson intro to aerobatics with John in his Citabria. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and he was a very skilled and competent CFI. Like P7, his military gruffness didn't bother me a bit as I too spent some time vacationing with my Uncle.

My first lessons stands out, as I thought the flight would be a scrub. We had a 70 degree crosswind in the high teens gusting into the 20's, but he said we go. And off we went, that first lesson was nothing special, just feeling out the plane a little bit, steep turns, stalls, falling leafs, etc. He had me fly that thing to short final, and me being nervous as hell (1st time in a tail dragger and unfamiliar with the plane), I was all over the place. He took over on short final and set that plane down soft as a feather in pretty trying conditions. After that, I knew I had nothing to worry about flying with him. The rest of the lessons were a blast.

I’ve flown with John in my Debonair. Great guy and excellent instructor. I want to do his acro course. Need to get on that!

John is still doing acro, same syllabus, same results. Worked for me. Did his aerobatics course, as well as my private, instrument, and ATP through him. Have been blessed with a great career in flying that is still going (Instructor in the F/A-18, TOPGUN, F-5, T-45, now DAL A350). All thanks to him.
