Will a DPE perform a checkride in the airplane you've been training in at flight school? Like, if I've been training in CTLS, are they allowed to throw me in any other light sport they want? Or do they go with whatever plane I have been training in?

It is your responsibility to supply the aircraft for the checkride.

Perfect. I am more than happy to be examined in an aircraft I know and love.

Where do they train in CTLS in IL? Just curious ... I know two flight schools around Chicago with LSAs , one trains with a few Remos planes and the other has 3 Evektors ...

Simply Fly at KARR has Remos. which school or FBO in the chicago area has the CTLS and Evektors?

Why do you ask? Is the DPE or your CFI telling you that you’ll need to take the checkride in a different plane?

You're responsible for bringing the plane, not the DPE. When you fill out the IACRA form, you'll have to tell them what plane you are going to do the check ride in.

Then again if you are going for your AMEL/AMES check ride you have to bring the "right" plane to the DPE.

You have to bring the plane to any flight test. Rather difficult to do an IR ride in a VFR plane.

I don't train in IL, I found a sport program in Wisconsin. I used to fly out of Waukegan until I realized a sport program was the better route for me.
