Here's a variant, guess the guy inside was claustrophobic?

Eh, not many of the early jets were that attractive. Not sure I’d label the Meteor as ugly though. Bottom one tested the effects of G forces in the prone position.
 
Ugly is it’s middle name.

I’m pretty sure I married my wife because her grandfather was a Mosquito pilot. He wished he’d had a chance to fly the Hornet. And the Comet racer is one of my favorite planes of all time.
 
As usual, still in development, has fantastic specs (over 400knots at 65,000 feet -- prop driven) and etc. Uglier than home made sin.
That's impressive V-12 powered, water cooled, turbo charged, piston engine. You got to love that...:thumbsup::thumbsup:

I don't know enough to say. Is there enough air at 65000 for a prop to "bite?" I know some military planes can do it, but aren't all of them turbofans/jets?
 
My favorite ugly plane has always been the Edgley Optica

That was my thought as well. The C130 has a service ceiling of 33,000'. P3 is 28,000'. Seems improbable that a piston powered prop could get up to 65,000'.
 
I was referring to the promoters. :D

I figured that. I guess I should have used the word "fantasticAL." :)

Y'all've been doing this a lot longer than me. I'm still getting used to all of the small companies that announce a new plane design, publish fantasticAL specs for it (including an unbelievable price) .. .. ... and then they go bankrupt.
