Part 141 IFR Time Transfer

Hello!

I am new to the forum, but I have a question about part 141 ifr time requirements. I did my PPL part 141 and am looking to do my ifr with part 141 at the same school. Between getting my PPL, I took some cross country flights with an CFII who was not affiliated with the flight school I intend to do my IFR at. Can these IFR hours (hours after the PPL training) be counted towards the 35 hours of IFR training under part 141?

Yes they will count, but going 141, you will still need to follow the syllabus.
 
Lancie is correct, assuming the additional hours have been logged and signed by the second CFII. -Skip

Just to clarify, the actual instrument time counts or all of the cross country?

Both will count towards ratings and total time, however, you'll still have to follow the syllabus for your training.
 
If your question is will the Part 61 instrument training hours I have reduce the training hours required in the Part 141 Instrument course, the answer is no. This is because 141 is structured and you must do each lesson in order and each flight must be at least the length outlined in the Training Course Outline.
 
So that's the question. The hours accumulated after the ppl training was not part of any structured flight training program, though it is logged correctly and signed by the cfii. I don't recall part 141 having a particular lesson time, but if I get the required lessons done following the 141 syllabus, in less than 35 hours, can I use the unstructured hours to count to make 35?
 
You can credit up to 25% of the time required by the 141 syllabus. 141.77(c).
 
Ok, so I can get 8.75 hours off the 35 requirement?
