Does anyone know if there is a book or website that list Airports that have hotels on them. Here in Texas I know of T82 near Fredericksburg TX the Hanger Hotel. I also know across the street at the Scottsdale AZ airport is a Best western. I want to travel around the US and stay in hotels at the airport.

Air Nav had a very comprehensive list atone time. They have since limited the info about hotels. You may do better, putting out a question to the forum of the states you are going to be flying in.

Thanks for the help. I am looking for a list with Airports a little smaller than JFK or DFW. Something General Aviation friendly. Class C and lower.

Also, I just want to fly and it does not matter where. With a book of Hotels at airports I can plan my trips using the book to see whats out there. I will pick my destination base on the hotels I find.

For example I want to fly to Kitty Hawk KFAA which is about 7 hours from KTYR. A little far for a one day round trip. On the return I want to stop some where for the night around Alabama, Georgia, or Tenn. area. It will be easy if the airport had a Hotel.

KBHC extends your return by 8.3% compared to direct.

Not directly on the airport, but I'm pretty sure you can get a ride to the hotel if you land in Port Aransas, Tx and are heading to Amelia's Landing.

In Okracoke, NC, you can get someone from town to drive over to the airport and fetch you in a golf cart. It's about a mile hike to the middle of town otherwise

Here's a list of public airports with hotels nearby. If you import this into ForeFlight as user_waypoints.csv, they'll show up on the map.

I'd hazard to guess that any Class C and D will have a hotel either on the field or nearby with shuttle service. Unless of course, you're looking specifically for hotels for pilots. Also, keep in mind, many nicer FBOs have a sleeping room for pilots if all you need is somewhere to sleep.

I hear they have a courtesy car. You can even use it to drive to a different hotel :stirpot: .

The golf carts are not allowed to go out onto the federal land. I have stayed at 'Blackbeards Lodge' before and they will send the maintenance guy with a pickup to get you.
There is no formal taxi service on the island, but as often, 'there is a guy with a car' who will get you wherever you have to go for a 10.

Knoxville, TN KTYS has a gaggle of the usual chain hotels (La Quinta, Candlewood, Courtyard) across the street from the TAC-Air FBO.

If it was just me, a couch at sleepy town USA airport fbo building would get me about anywhere... most of em not a soul around all evening n night... add to the adventure of it...

Ah, you know Javier! Drives for tips. He was Uber on Ocracoke before such a thing existed.

The vehicle that Howard's sends to the airport is technically an electric car but looks like a gold cart so I can understand the previous posters comment. It's actually not a NPS reg but a N.C. state law on golf carts on roads with speeds above 25mph, which happens just as you exit town before the airport.

Beside the hotel, there’s facilities, fuel prices, local sights, & on & on. I’d use the multitude of factors when picking the destinations & stops.

The new TWA Hotel, a renovation of the former TWA Airport Terminal building at JFK looks really nice... and expensive! -Skip

Had to fly to Vegas for a conference a few weeks ago, winds in the NY Metro area were gusting to 60 and my flight from Newark to Denver was delayed causing me to miss my Denver to Vegas flight. I called my company travel agent for a hotel in Denver, they ask if I have a preference, tell them as close to the airport as possible they come back a couple of minutes later and tell me there is a Westin in the airport for $600 per night.

Find a casino! Locate a GA airport nearby; odds are they have a shuttle to come get you and bring you back.

I took an example, and found this random casino in Tennessee:

Then I did a search for "airport" in the same area. Whaddya know...
https://goo.gl/maps/KX5GWSizQKyPzEdn9

...but do they have a shuttle service?
https://www.ladyluckcaruthersville.com/node/212

Do you provide transportation to and from the airport?

Yes, we have an airport shuttle.
Shuttle service is available 4:00 a.m. to midnight, please call 775-329-0711 for service from the airport.

I was going to say:

Boom.

Shaka.

Laka.

...but then I noticed that I picked a casino without a hotel.

Ahem.

What rhymes with "pail", but is what I just did?

Along those lines is KRWF in Minnesota. Free shuttle to Jackpot Junction Casino Hotel. They even give you $5 (I actually got $10, they had a promo for new players) on a player's card when you tell them you arrived by private plane :)

@Sinistar @WannFly Something for you two

Several years ago, we were on our way from the east coast to Cody, Wy. Margy picked Humboldt Iowa as there was a Super 8 just off the field. Of course, just off was a slight misnomer as we had to walk a half mile from where we parked our plane down to the hotel. Just before we got there a police officer pulls over and asks where we're going as we're rolling our wheelie suitcases down the highway. I pointed at the Super 8 and he said that he'd have given us a ride except we were almost there.

We went in and the guy ahead of us in line gets the last room. Great. I get out my iPad and start quizzing the desk clerk of other airports that have hotels. I suggest Pocahontas, IA which isn't that far away. She says they have a nice hotel in town but we can't fly into Pocahontas as it's a tiny airport. "Smaller than Humboldt?" I ask. Oh, yeah, I guess you're right. She calls the Pocahontas hotel and assures that they have a room for us. The problem is, no hotel shuttle and it's too far to walk. She calls the police department there. They tell her that there is a crew car at the airport and key's in the (unlocked) FBO building, but if we don't find it there, to call them and they'd give us a ride. We get there, the crew car is obviously there (an old, decommissioned police car). It takes us a half an hour to find the binder with the key inside it. We drive over to the hotel and find out it's town heritage day and there will be fireworks after dark. Cool.

The other interesting one was when we arrived in Morgantown WV. The FBO asks us which hotel we want to go to. I say any that will come pick us up (there are a lot in town there, it's a college town). We get a ride to the Holiday Inn. The driver is telling us where all the good restaurants are on the way in, but after checking in, we decide we'll just eat at the hotel restaurant. They had given us a 10% off coupon at the desk and I was too tired to go out. The food was fabulous. Apparently, some NY chef had enough of the big apple and had relocated there. When I went to check out the next morning, the clerk says, "Oh, you're our dine and stay winner. We draw the name of one person who stays at the hotel and eats at the restaurant and they get their room free." So we had a great dinner, 10% OFF, and ended up not paying for the room.

This new Hotel that just opened today looks really really Cool.

It is the Saarinen’s iconic TWA Flight Center, where restaurants, bars and retail outlets have taken flight. Two hotel wings, designed to reflect and defer to the landmark TWA Flight Center, sit behind the historic building and contain 512 guestrooms with views of JFK’s runways and the TWA Flight Center
