Bought my first plane!

Congratulations! That's a beautiful Viking. I too have always been found of them.

It's one of the few singles I haven't flown. I hope too someday.

Very cool! Need more pics!

:yeahthat:

Congrats!!! And welcome to the clan of owners - an emotional journey filled with elation, trepidation, dismay, agony, reconciliation and acceptance. And that's just from purchase through your first annual.

And remember, the corrosion inhibitor for a Viking has a unique part number. Quite different from those common Pipers and Cessnas cluttering the ramps. ;)

Major congratulations from someone hoping to own soon.

How long have you been flying?

Congratulations on acquiring an excellent aircraft!

I had insurance that covered the plane as long as I was getting 25 hrs dual instruction. I couldn’t solo or carry passengers w/o the 25 hrs first. I didn’t have a complex prior to buying the 210.
and what was that initial premium quote, if you remember?

I got quotes all over the place! I had one well known, large company, who shall remain nameless (cough, cough, Avemco, cough), that gave me a quote of $7000!! I ended up around 2500.

Nice. Always liked the Viking. Bill Cox does a good review on them in Wonderful World of Flying series.

Bill Cox's old review from 1991 is a standard. I still watch that video. If not for that groovy soundtrack, it's got to be the humor. 'Oh look at my bellanca tail dragger. And for reasons beyond my comprehension, i still own it.. Just what a pilot needs, two planes to take care of.' HAHA

Yeah I still watch those old reviews too. Nowadays it’s hard to see a decent video review on an airplane.

I stopped watching them on youtube because they generally suck. Though, i like the series of videos where they discuss cost of ownership for different planes and models with the actual owners. Woke me up to the impracticalities of owning a twin cessna 414. oh hell no.

Congrats! I’m 7months into ownership... I have found learning to be a good owner there is more to learn than how to fly the contraption to begin with, it brings a whole new aspect of flying...

Congrats and welcome to the club. Very soon flushing 100$ bills down the toilet will feel refreshing

Even though I'm not a pilot yet, I have enjoyed watching Flying Doodles plane reviews. He lets the owners talk quite at length about their planes, then he goes flying with them. I've learned a decent amount about some of the different planes through him.

I've wanted a Bellanca Super Viking since I discovered flying as a serious option in my life. It's been 8 months of shopping and now I have one. Lucky me, it is based in my town.

I lined up a CFI who can check me out in it and train me for my high performance and complex ratings.

Yeah baby.

Once I organize the hangar and all that jazz there will be a couch in there.
let's get to the heart of the matter. While Deschutes is great, you're living in the land of Russian River beer!!!! Why aren't you sneaking out pints of pliny to your friends in Oregon inexchange for some Deschutes and Pfriem?

Also, nice plane
