POA lunch at Marshfield WI. Great to meet everyone!

Yes! That was a lot of fun. We should do it again!

From left in the pic: @FredFenster's daughter Carolyn (sp?), @FredFenster, @masloki and his better half Daiva, @vontresc, @flyingcheesehead, and @painless.

@WannFly, I took a shot to the west just before we departed so you could see what it looked like toward home! Hopefully it was horrible crappy weather by you and made you feel better about your no-go decision!

I'll post airplane pics in the Daily Pic thread after I put the kid to bed.

Thanks for sharing the pictures and more importantly, not canceling!

Curious what everyone thought of the airport and restaurant? Hopefully it was a short walk and no problems.

I was on the ground looking up...at dark gray low bouncy overcast with the winds howling. Wish I could have made it :(

That mooney sure looks familiar...

Looks like you guys had a blast. Yeah, it was horrible here. Then like magic it cleared up to calm winds, clear skies and sunshine about 1800, so I thought I will go stretch my wings... stayed local counting cows, then while trying to return found a squal line of TS between me and fargo. Had to land 25 nm out, wait it out and finally come back in the dark. Go figure!!

It was fun! Airport was quiet, not enough tie down spots for all of us though and no wheel chocks or ropes to be found. FBO building looked fairly new and nice inside.

The restaurant service was slow, my food and my daughter's food tasted good though. No kids menu but they did make a plain chicken wrap for her and gave her probably the biggest slice of cake she's ever had.

And of course, all she could talk about when we got home was the police following the deer with the broken leg.

Huh... I figured it would be the cake.

After taking off from Marshfield, I caught up with @FredFenster to get some air-to-air pics of his beautiful Swift on his way back to MTW... Then I turned around and caught up to @vontresc in the Archer on his way back to MSN. Then I punched in direct to my home field and what do I see? I'm on a perfect course to intercept @masloki on his way back to ENW! I'd have taken some pictures of him, but we hadn't pre-arranged anything and I don't think he was on air-to-air... So I monitored ATC frequencies I thought he might be on and then jumped on when Milwaukee Approach called me out as traffic to him.

So, I think @painless had the only airplane that I didn't fly within a mile of on the way home!

Sounds like you had a lot of fun, I'm pleasantly surprised to find so many flyers in the immediate neighborhood. I was in a rental with an instructor out of SGS trying to remember how to land for the first time in 13 years Saturday morning. (Did it three times, every one an excellent landing as the plane was still capable of flying after.)

Quite the interceptor you fly. Good thing you weren’t armed. You could have had three kills in one day!
:D

I'll be doing my commercial training at either SGS or LVN next week.

With AirTrek North? They are who I'm going through to renew my currency and transition from rusty pilot to current pilot. I'm still trying to figure out the best way forward toward IFR.

Yeah MKE approach was great. Paraphrasing here, “Skyhawk 287, you’re about to get run over. Advise you don’t make any sudden movements to keep it quick and painless.”

They were great and it was cooling seeing you go by.

No with a buddy of mine (who used to work at Air Trek, but now flies for Endeavor). Bringing a Mooney with me.
