Do you guys remember those names from PPL written? Just visited those 2... nice FBO, nice airports with good GA traffic.

That’s it, carry on.

Those airports / sectionals have been on the test for a really long time. Been to most the airports on that page.

Next up, road trip to Denton, TX?

Come on up! The Class D tower staff is friendly.

FYI... Do not go to the ramp. It is $30 or $40 for the ramp fee. With fuel purchase, they waive it. You can also park at the base of the tower for free. The ramp monkeys waive you over, but you do not have to go to them.

Dont forget 'Lake Drummond'.
I can't remember, but is it the same diagram that has Lake Drummond and the airport where they ask the elevation, and it's deceptive for those of us hinterland dwellers who can't imagine an airport with an elevation of only 12 feet MSL?

I have always thought that Lake Drummond has a very Eeyore-sounding name, appropriate for its location in the Great Dismal Swamp.

Yes, that was me in the blue/white Cessna that landed while you were holding in the turnout area.
Everyone ready to sing? Iiiiiiit's a small world, after all! :)

I want to say its a question about visual reporting points.

Thanks for visiting. I hadn't flown for awhile, I don't normally fly in the cold winter months. I went up around 5 and did a few laps around the pattern to make sure I still know how to land a plane haha. After that a buddy came out and we just went buzzing around the area, looking at the water, checking on the lake we both have cabins on, etc. Just general screwing around.

I was worried about landing right in front of someone else being a little rusty after the winter break, after you said you wanted to wait for me I told my friend "Great, now I get to land fright in front of a pilot thats probably sitting there critiquing me" haha.

It was just funny, I heard another pilot(Dale) ask you where you were headed and you replied Cooperstown, then yesterday I saw this thread and figured that had to be you.

Well, thanks for visiting anyway.

Ha ha , I didn’t have you in sight and didn’t wanted to rush my take off and most importantly I was still setting up the gps and figuring out RNAV plates for Cooperstown. Your landing was great.

Blue skies

@fudge80 - Is Cooperstown your home base?

I circled it a couple of times a few week ago on a MSP->DVL flight. My grandparents lived there.

I am curious if their courtesy car works?

I have been wanting to fly in, use the car and tour the Minute Man Missile Silon north of town.

He is in carrington

As Wannfly stated I am based in Carrington, about 60 miles from Cooperstown. I didn't even realize Cooperstown had a courtesy car but I assume you could just call the number for the airport manager and ask, it probably rings to the city office.

That was @WannFly's advice as well. But I thought I had stumbled on a "local" and save me a call. Once I figure it out post back with an update.

Kind of like when I landed in FAR and this guy said "Are you Kai?" :D @WannFly

If you do, let me know what you find out. I'd much rather fly there than drive.

Just a guess but I believe the people that do the tours are just locals that live nearby. If you call to set up a tour I bet they would pick you up at the airport.
