The original "I don't know it all" of aviation.
I am going to be flying a PnP mission picking up a beagle dog at KOUN to take to Amarillo.

With the weather predicted to be nice, I am going to take advantage of Ozzie's being KOUN and getting some lunch. I meet the pilot from Wichita around 2:00pm, so I thought I would get there around 11:30am.

Anyone in the area care to join? @OkieAviator @OkieFlyer @JCranford @RussR @SixPapaCharlie

I'm out of the country until the following Tuesday

I can't fly my new bird into controlled airspace for another 28 hours.

Unfortunately the Leg #1 pilot chose to cancel his flight due to bad weather on his end which cause the entire mission to be postponed....

Ah well.... rather he be safe and able to fly another day than me getting to eat some Ozzie's chicken fried.

Maybe I'll just rein havoc and chaos around Dallas somewhere.....

How many legs were involved, Mike?

This might be an example of why I would never do PnP flights that involve more than two legs (when I was still actively searching for trips on the site which I don't do any longer). It's hard to fly that far without someone having to deal with weather and that places undue pressure on pilots to do something potentially unwise.

I also think it's silly to fly ONE dog from AZ to FL.

As an aside, I've been a bit disenchanted with PnP as a whole. They are not adequately vetting transports and there seems to be more private breeders posting trips and trying to scam the system. At least that was true a year or two ago. These days I don't go there much because I only fly for two or three rescues that I personally know and who are genuinely saving pups. They contact me directly when they have a need, I agree to the flight, and THEN they post it on PnP just so I can have a paperwork trail for tax purposes. They're all a 501c3 so we might not need the PnP connection, but it can't hurt if ever audited. This, for me, is a far more practical way to help and ensure I'm really helping and not being scammed.

4 legs, and done with a transport coordinator whom I've worked with many times. I was the anchor leg that would have delivered an 8 year old Beagle to his adopting family

Sorry, just saw this. Let me know the next time you are headed to OUN.

I get that feeling too Tim. I saw a few trips where they could easily drive to the destination yet they want someone to fly the animal for them. I don't know enough people in the system to trust anyone at all.
