Ercoupe forum

are you a member, if so do you like it
is it very active
While I'm an Ercoupe fan (I tried for years to buy a ramp queen sitting a AKR) I don't own one. There are several owner's organizations that require a paid membership to join. Forty bucks is a relatively small price to pay; even on small hint would possibly be worth ten times that.

Or you could join the one that already exists, for about nine cents per day. What's your time worth?
I agree.

LL, you need to expect a low volume of messages on an Ercoupe forum. Why? There are just not that many Ercoupes flying today. So little interest outside of a small number of enthusiasts like yourself.

Ask yourself, please, how many Ercoupe owners participate in Ercoupe forums, and then what is your strategy to pull a meaningful number of these Ercoupe enthusiasts away from their forum of choice? Most successful forums have an acknowleged expert as an active member and he/she is the draw.

IMHO you are far better off paying a few bucks (9 cents a day in Kenny's math) to join an established group.

Is it on poa for a different website
How hard would it be to create one
Best bet would be to create enough traffic here so the powers what be can see a separate forum would be justified. There aren't any type forums for even the most common aircraft now, so I doubt Ercoupe - related traffic would be so high as to justify it.

I'd recommend spending the $40 to join the dedicated forum. I'm on the Biplane forum, which recently switched to a paid format (I was grandfathered). The owner said the quality of information on other sites he ran improved quite a bit when he switched them to paid format.

or just post your question. prob could'a been answered by now.

I guess everybody browses POA differently, but I can’t tell you the last time I actually clicked on an individual subforum, other than when I post a thread. I always click ‘new posts’ or ‘recent posts’ so even if there was an Ercoupe sub forum, I wouldn’t ever look in it.

Maybe try ‘Ercoupe Pilots of America’...is that a thing?

I belong to BAC (Beech Aero Club). It's mainly for Sundowner, Sierra and Sport owners. I must say I have learned a lot from the forum about the "baby Beechcraft"

Hats off to the BAC members...:)

Good luck with the Ercoupe forum.

I might try And make that

If you have specific questions ,just ask them on this forum. Not sure we have a lot of coupers here.

Ok Mods -- if this guy gets an Ercoupe I demand a Cozy3 forum!

Of course, I don't have a Cozy3. But I wanted one. And the plane I do own has a very active community.

But fair is fair!

There is a pretty good yahoo group for Ercoupes:

ercoupe-tech@yahoogroups.com

I've owned a couple Ercoupes and they are a super fun plane!
are they still active when i found them on the web the newest post i could find was from 2010?
yes cant wait till i can get mine, 3 more weeks till the restoration is done

Actually there are a few Very knowledgeable guys on there. Definitely Active.

There is also ercoupe-flying@yahoo, which is more of a social setting for the same group. In addition, there is a facebook group for Ercoupes.

I own and Ercoupe and I am a member of the Ercoupe Owners Club at $40 well worth it, I reopened my facebook after 8 years away to join the Ercoupe group there and I am on the Ercoupe Yahoo groups. They are all active in there own way. The plus of the EOC (Ercoupe Owners Club) is you get a list of all the AP's and IA's around the country that have true Ercoupe experience which is worth way more than $40.

I am lucky enough to live near and hangar my Ercoupe at the Butler county airport, there are 8 Ercoupes hangared here, two IA's that have done annuals on these Ercoupes and an AP that not only knows Ercoupes, but he is one of the best and has built at least 3 Ercoupes from the ground up.

I guess it really depends on what you are looking for, if just basic info ask anywhere, if you are planning to buy one or rebuild one, join every group and get info from all sources as some are only on one of the platforms.

What we need is a cri cri subforum. Or is it cry cry?

I was wondering if there is a way to increase useful load of this aircraft I weigh about 275 lb but I really like this aircraft but I don't want to buy one unless I and able to feet two people plus some baggage

I couldn't find an STC (Supplemental Type Certificate) that would help, but it's just not a good idea; with about 500 lbs. useful in later models, which are already loading the wings with a gross about 200 lbs. more than early models, you'd be in dangerous territory.
500 lbs. useful seems to be the magic number for inexpensive two-seaters with marginal performance. Adding just 100 lbs. (for 16 gallons of fuel to go with your 500 lbs. of occupants and luggage) to that would seriously impact climb performance.
