Half-nekkid woman shuts down airport

Article says she was in only her underwear. While technically half (or more) nekkid, it’s hardly indecent exposure. Women wear less to the pool or beach.

The first link on this news article offered me 'news you will be interested in' including a link to a woman who lost her court battle to parade around topless.. the photo was much like you describe.
 
One article said ‘she was taken to the hospital for evaluation’? That sounds about right.
 
What I find most interesting about that incident is the name of the airport.

Basically my hometown. Trust me, ya'll do not want pictures. Imagine the typical redneck woman strolling around in a Southern Walmart. Now imagine her nekked.

As for shutting down airport. Typical knee jerk pansy bureaucracy.

No landings were prevented.
It was the take-offs which stopped.
No one wanted to leave, all the pilots were hoping for a peek!

You know it would be downright surreal to see a naked woman standing behind the hold short line while on final.
 
Maybe it’s just me. I read this as “woman runs across runway, officials shut down airport”. The state of her undress is largely meaningless other than a slight indication of mental health.

I suspect that if I had been landing, I would have been oblivious to her unless she was on the runway. I’m not sure whether or not that statement should be prefaced with the word “sadly”.

Edit, they actually have determined that she didn’t run across the runway. She faces a trespassing charge. Still no mug shot.
 
Seems like they protect women somewhat, picture. That is more true when ‘mental issues’ are likely. If it’s a guy, they go find a picture from Facebook or wherever. Yeah, probably don’t want to see a picture anyway.

Around my little part of the country, any half or more nekkid woman would cause riots, injuries and probably a death or two as the people are stampeding to get away from such a not pretty sight.....

I did a little survey of the pictures that come up with the various articles on this. They included

1 aerial photo of the Florence airport.
The airport sign as shown above
What appears to be the correct control tower for Florence
Two different shots of runway 9/27 which looks like it could be Florence
The terminal building at Florence.

It also includes
3 different shots that are definitely the Charlotte-Douglas airport.
1 gratuitous shot of an airliner.

Of course none of the lady in question, though googling does find the guy in his boxer briefs that ran out on the wing at Atlanta a while back.
 
The 'correct English' freak in me had to chuckle at this line from the article.....

"As flights circled overhead, the woman was eventually found by K-9 units hiding in a storm ditch, the newspaper reported."

First question....what were K-9 units doing hiding in a storm ditch? Don't ya' hate a dangled participle? LOL!!

Believe me, in my experience as an emergency responder, if you ever get called to a crazy naked person, they aren't the ones you would want to see.
