What is covered in this book that isn't covered in all of the other aviation weather books out there?

Really? Do you realize your target audience are a generation brought up on the internet and eAnything is the modality preferred, don’t you! But if you are targeting a bunch of old Bonanza pilots, well, rock on whicha bad self.

I for one am going to buy a copy. If it’s anywhere near the quality and innovative capability of WeatherSpork, it will be well worth it. This team is setting the standard for aviation weather products hands down and no, I wasn’t prompted or paid to post. You owe it to yourselves and your passengers to become acquainted with these products.

Made use of that very feature/function this past week. It is a very nice innovation.
 
I don’t have a nice aviation weather text. I personally read better when it’s a book in my hand, for me easier to reference as well. I think I’ll pick this up. Thanks.
 
I would be interested in an aviation weather book from a scientific perspective. Most of the meteorology texts out there are not particularly geared towards aviation, and the aviation weather books tend to gloss over the science behind weather.

Scott's book does just that.....

Remember, Scott's claims to fame are both an educator/CFII and a weather scientist/researcher.

I haven't read the entire book yet, but the segments I have gone through approach the topics like you want, providing good depth on not only what do you need to know as a pilot, but why that phenomenon happens and what is going on when it is happening.

Looking forward to the movie..... But between Chuck Norris and Dwayne Johnson, I'm not sure who gets to be Scott and who gets to be Doug.

He seemed to get upset that some people disagreed with his opinion on the importance of Skew-Ts.

Not the first time he's done similar.
 
It is a very good book as noted by others. Oriented to aviation but with good explanations of the science behind it.
 
I am not the generation that was brought up with ebooks, but having a lug around a book is a deterrent,even for me. I thought it was easier to publish an ebook than a hard copy?

Just my interpretation, but I think I recall from Scott D.'s Aviation News Talk appearance that the price of the book is $70. (Confirmed at pilotweatherbook dot com [I'm too new to be allowed to post links])

He also commented that they're seeing this as a textbook for aviation education (i.e. Colleges/Universities). The pricing is consistent with that.

Since most schools aren't doing ebooks for classes, it will probably be a while before such a thing becomes available. I'd expect it only if/when the education market doesn't pan out or gets saturated. If the education market does take off, expect to see used copies hitting the market when students complete the associated class and begin selling, like they do with most other textbooks.

Again, all of the above is just my speculation. Seems like a logical business plan, though.

If he comes out with the ebook I’m buying it ASAP. I really hope they make one.
